I'm usually hesitant to rec books I love, but I'm in a reckless, *fuck it" mood.

I adore My Antonia by Willa Cather and also Death Comes to the Archbishop by the same author.

And my all time favourite is All Quiet on the Western Frontby Eric Marie Remarque. (Also Dan Rad is scheduled to begin filming it soon.)

Thirdly, these next two don't fit any of your categories, but they are just amazingly well-written books. Give them a look-see on Amazon, or at your local library.

SeaBiscuit by Laura Hildenbrand and The Absolutely True Dairy of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Both of these writers are fucking geniuses. *imho*

Awesome, thanks!! I'll be looking at all these. I'm particularly interested in All Quiet, since DRad will be doing a movie version. :D Thanks so much!

Julie Ann Peters has some great GLBT novels out there. I also liked the little twist in the shapeshifter series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Cassandra Clare has her trilogy out, but the gay is very slight. I love anything and everything by John Green, and thus I came across Lauren Myracle. To that train there is a little nudge (very subtle) in a series by Melissa Marr to some gay.
I only read young adult fiction.
