and the very crucial "she's like my sister" line

I agree with you about all the bits left out, but this seemed particularly blatant, since there were two moments where I completely expected Harry to deliver the line. Why do the films seem to feel like they have to leave the Harry/Hermione door slightly open? I don't get it.

Wormtail - when he first showed up in the Manor scene I was thinking about that part, but by the time they left I'd completely forgotten that hadn't happened! Do you suppose they've moved the scene later, or will he just die off-screen or something?

Rupert Grint has gotten his man-shape

This made me giggle. He has indeed! But it doesn't affect the believability, for me. Isn't Harry described as quite tall by the end, though? Poor Daniel.

What was inaccurate about what Hermione did? I mean, I guess erasing and modifying memory aren't exactly the same, but she did make them forget her, which is what they showed...

It's subtle, but Obliviate erases memories completely. Hermione charmed her parents' memories so that they believed they were other people (Monica and ... something? Wendell? David? Wilkins), who wanted badly to live in Australia and who did not have a child. (And I think that's partly a reflection of Hermione's insane skills at Charms, which are also hinted at.) In the scene where the Obliviate the Death Eaters, Hermione mentions that she doesn't have much experience with that particular spell. People assumed that was a mistake, but it's not. (And I think JKR confirmed that later.)

It doesn't matter so much for movie-canon. It's just one of those little nitpicky details.

Okay, that makes sense. Though I don't think memory erasure is a complete process - we were discussing this after the movie, and do we know Bertha Jorkins retained her memories of Crouch's secret deep down, even after he erased them.

Oh, that's fascinating. It's true that the spellwork in the movies is different, though.

I'm with you on the left out bits. I'll add one more (though I suppose I can see why they might have cut it for time); Luna's painting of the two trios. I love that ( ... )

I think Tonks looked pregnant enough...and she had her hand in the classic 'check out my slightly swelling pregnant belly' pose when she was saying the thing about having more good news. I was bummed that they didn't put in Lupin coming and trying to go with them - I wonder if they won't just totally cut that story line in the second one? Although it will make the resurrected ghost scene play less sentimentally if the resurrected Lupin doesn't say the thing about dying for a better world his son could grow up in.

So seriously, I think I'm just gonna link people to this when they ask me what I thought of it because I had ALL THE EXACT SAME FEELINGS! The only thing you didn't mention was the hilarity of George being the one to walk in on Harry and Ginny in the kitchen. Because I was giggling like a fool. But yeah, all the stuff you missed were the things I missed. Like seriously, we walked out of the theater and I said "I was sad they didn't do the Kreacher story, or the memorial in Godrick's Hollow or "she's like my sister"."
