potter polling

I don't want to go into lockdown yet. I really, really don't. But I'm getting really paranoid. I am afraid to go to MSN or Yahoo, and even though half of my flist is totally anti-spoiler, and the other half is militantly uninterested in Harry Potter, I'm still completely paralyzed by spoiler anxiety ( Read more... )

I am avoiding TV news like the plague. I was surfing this morning, and turned to Headline News, where the newscaster began, "The big question is, will Harry Potter live or die--" and then I changed the channel. Fast.

No tv news. No print news except the school paper's opinion section (which is too stupid and consumed with football tickets to be spoilery). No internet after Friday, and no internet news at all.

I am determined not to be spoiled. *clings to you*

I am terrified of spoilers. We've been thinking of going to a big event (Harvard Square is going to be turned into Diagon Alley for the book release) but what are the chances that someone in the crowd won't turn right to the end and blab? (Then again, as long as we leave before midnight..) I'll definitely be in a media blackout this weekend.

I love those events! We're just going to the Barnes & Noble event--I admit that I'm a little nervous about that, too. I'm thinking about bringing my iPod and putting it on as soon as the books start being handed out.

But I don't think anyone is going to be that big of a jerk in that particular crowd. I hope.

I can't skip it, though. I MUST have my book at midnight so that I can start reading ASAP.

Now, cheapskate that I am, I'm planning on buying the book at Costco the next day. I just want to go to the event to experience it. Am not really sure I'll be up to all the walking around it entails, but we'll see - after all, I still have a decent supply of painkillers. ;)

I just read, btw, that CBS news is vowing not to report anything about the ending, or who dies, so as not to spoil people. Good for them.

I'm slowly making my way through the rest of the series, so I won't be ready to read DH when it arrives Saturday. My final pre-new book reading of the series. :/

I managed to go for MONTHS without knowing the big HBP spoiler, though, so I figure my ostrich-like ability to tune things out will be an advantage.

And I hope Ron doesn't die.

That is all.

My guess - I don't think Harry will techinically "kill" V. However, I do believe he'll sacrifice himself to save Ron/Hermione, and love will conquer all. Or at least Voldemort.

I kind of don't want to read it.

I'm rereading, too--but I'm determined to read DH starting on Friday, though, so I may have to skip OotP. (But I know it best of all the books, so that's fine.)

I don't believe any of the Trio will die. I really don't. But at the same time, I'm AFRAID.
