Wow, I don't know how, but I'd missed this one, and it was a shame, 'cause that was superb. Have I ever mentioned that you break my heart every time I read one of your stories? ;) But I can't stop reading when the writing is that good. I don't think I've ever seen anything that was from Sam's POV, and that was an excellent way to view Danny and the start of his neuroses.

Aww. Thank you! There's so much underlying pain in Sports Night - pretty much every person in it's damaged in some way. Danny most of all, and, since I fancy him most, and I do love me some angst, that works out pretty well for me. In my mean, sadistic way.

I don't think many people would have read this, I posted it to my LJ when I only had one or two SN people on my FL, if that many, and it didn't go on the Yahoo slash list on account of it's not slash. So I was quite happy to dust it off and let it see the light of day. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

So I understand that you posted this almost five years ago, but today marks the first day I've read it, and it was brilliant. I didn't expect to see a fic from Sam's POV, and I love how much thought you put into their relationship, what Sam was like, what Danny was like as a teenager, and how their father treated Dan even before Sam died. Beautiful job.

Whoosh. Fantastic. It's amazing Dan turned out as well as he did, considering. And so heartbreaking to see the story from Sam's POV, and (starting about the third paragraph) the dawning dread I was feeling...

Really well done, of course.

Thank you so much! I'm really quite fond of this fic myself still, even after all this time. The Family Rydell has been a constant theme in my SN fiction right from the start, for some reason. Probably the amount of scope it gives for angst!
