There's an apparently serious outbreak of a weird type of influenza running around Mexico (and south USA) right now (rather off-season for flu too). So yesterday a friend called me at 11pm to tell me there was no school today. And indeed, news at 11pm (I still can't believe people watch the news that late, but heck, whatever) was saying that all classes (for students from preschool to University levels, including private schools) were cancelled on Friday. Later on, some other people called me and I talked to some classmates and indeed at almost midnight we found out there would be no school the next day (kind of yay because I hadn't really studied all that much for a Literature exam... ehem). Why the hell they give that sort of news so late still baffles me. I mean, some people from all over the Federal District actually went out (which is probably sort of what they're trying to avoid) and got to school only to find it closed. Hurray for organisation...
So today there's nothing to do since museums, cinemas, etc were all closed. ._. I rather wonder if this is going to get serious or if I'm just over-worrying. I've always been rather paranoid about a pandemic outbreak... and not only the zombie kind lol. But hey, for now I suppose we wait for a vaccine (which I am not particularly thrilled about...) or something. At least more info from our dear, sweet government.
But hey, even Yahoo! News talked about today. And I keep wondering what's going to happen to the rest of the exams we still have to present since we only have like 10 days of school left. Hm... why do I worry about these things so much...
And why do they hand out surgical masks? Do those things actually help at all? Wouldn't they actually keep the bugs on the person and have the person keep breathing them and make it easier for them to get sick? Seriously...
And because I can't organise my thoughts, one last thing. A while ago I went to get coffee and I saw all the houses around mine with literally all windows open. I know they told us to keep the air circulating inside houses, but to actually open all windows... man. Well, I'm done.
