5 stars because I think this genuinely conveyed how pointless the whole situation was for most. I like how America/Alfred shared that view with his soldiers and how awkward it sounded, even to him, that he was "fighting for himself".
Cornflower blue <3 (I would have loved a line mentioning the heat of Arkansas... don't ask why, or the bayou lakes... hm.)
Fantastic use of the historical information, love, and playing around with those quotes was genius. Do write more soon (A piece on Vietnam would be interesting)! :)
Now I'm off for a slice of croissant.

Gosh, thank you kindly, bub :)
I do think that would have sounded nice. Might have included it if word count had allowed it, heh.
I love how history is now such great inspiration for writing, don't you? (Vietnam would certainly be interesting)
Share that croissant, why don't you? xD

Oh right. I'd forgotten about word limit.
Can't agree more! Endless material that we can easily exploit, heh. (Vietnam... so much writing juice there, I can't see why the fandom lacks fics on this conflict.)
Bah... France ate it before I even got to the kitchen -_-.
