Do I hear crickets? Why yes, I think I do...

Its so quiet around here, and I'm sure it is because everyone is stalking the promptfest page and claiming their prompts (right?right?).  Seriously, I wasn't going to do it this time around, but some gentle prompting by teddyradiator and jenidralph convinced me to give it another shot ( Read more... )

Two things - Brava for giving the Promptfest a shot. I have every faith that you will create a great offering!

And go you!! for the Doctor's costume - what an ambitious undertaking, and how incredible you did! That is totally awesome. I made TheHubs(r) a Zoot Suit one year (he played in a Jump Jive band at the time), and I nearly tore my hair out. It turned out pretty good, but crikey, I thought I was going to go mad. Lapels just mystify me, and yet you just sailed through it!

You do realise the sky's the limit now - you've done the hardest stuff there is to do. From now on, everything will be easy compared to that!

Awe... thanks, Teddy.

The suit about did-in my sanity (no 'about' to it if you ask my hubby). Both the collar and lapels are pretty off ... it just doesn't show so much in the picture.

And now hemming pants and making a window valance seemed like child's play. But I think I'll give the hard stuff a break for a while. My sanity agrees.

I'm so glad you jumped in with the rest of the promptfest crazies. You can thank me when it's all over... unless you have complaints. If that's the case, then you can blame Teddy. ;)

Those costumes are amazing!! ..so much better than the recycled shirt of my mom's that Robbie will be wearing. LOL!

I'm glad you nudged me to do the fest again. Ive already got quite a few ideas for my fic... I just need to decide which ones are good enough, lol.

And I cant take credit for my daughter's costume. I had it made by a nice lady on Etsy.

Yay for prompt fest!

You did really great for no patterns. Yeah you did a huge learning curve, but look at what you did and the next project will be easier. =)

These are definitely "cosplay" grade costumes.

The cheapness I inherited from my dad was at play regarding the patterns. I just couldn't fathom paying $20 for patterns when the fabric cost $2. I googled free patterns until I could find bits and pieces and suggestions that would work. The jacket was actually a men's lounge jacket from the 70s that I modified.

And I don't know about cosplay quality ... but I'm flattered you think it could pass muster.

I get patterns at the 99 cent sales and stock up. I have duplicates of some. Here patterns are cheap and fabric is expensive...LOL.
