Lately, I've been quite up and down in regards to my feelings in the HGSS community.  At times I feel very welcome, and at times I feel very much the outsider.  Today I am very much feeling like the teenager with acne, glasses, braces, and big feet trying to fit in with the cheerleaders and football players

From one spotty, four-eyed, metal-mouthed, clown-footed community member to another... Never underestimate your value to the community. You have great stories and do a wonderful job of telling them. :)

Gosh, my own post reminded me what a swot I was in high school. Maybe I feel that way now because I was the one with glasses and braces, minus the acne and big feet. But I was in the band and math club. Maybe that is why I can relate to Hermione, lol.

Well, I'm not a writer who's disappeared, seeing as we chitchat quite often on FB, and I'm certainly not offended by anything you've said to me. ;) I think there are quite a number of us in this community who feel as you do from time to time. But perspective - it's a wide, diverse, and scattered across several different social media outlets. There's the FB group(s), the LJ community, the Tumblr community, etc

Aww...I definately wasn't talking about you. You, along with a few other ladies, have been quite good encouragement along my bumpy way in fanfiction.

Yesterday was just a...I don't know...an 'i'm turning 40 and today is depressing' kind of day. So, thank you for the encouragment when I needed it.

I am definitely on the outside on the LJ community--mostly because I have no idea how to navigate it properly. My posted stories here never end up posting to the LJ communities except through other sites, and all the friends I have here I've made through other sites

Wow...yeah, my writing situation is exactly the same. My researched fic has less than 150 reviews in 9 chapters, and my 'random inspiration' dark fic has almost 350. I guess you never know what will draw people in.

And I am one of those that have gone ga-ga over Severus, Redux, lol. But I do love The Lucky Ones as well.

Sometimes I feel part of the community, but many times I don't. Yesterday was a down today, but thank you for responding...it made me feel much better.

Oh, it isn't my birthday yet, but I'm already dreading turning 40 and it isn't that far off (just a few months). I was just recently asked if I was my daughter's (she is 2) grandmother. That is depressing...
