I really enjoy the Tobias "dad reflex" moment, as well as how well his little family works while it does even as the cracks begin to grow.

I do enjoy stories in which the Snape family has some happy times and Tobias is not a monster.

Lovely family dynamic here. It's just sad that this won't last. It seems like Toby doesn't know she's a witch. Perhaps that was the start of their troubles, him finding out she was keeping secrets from him.
