This is genuinely awful news. So sad.

It really is. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it. But awful is the best word for it. Truly awful.

*hugs you hard* She truly was a wonderful person. She's responsible for the absolute highlights of Azkatraz: the night out at the drag bar (epic!) and the Trial of J.K. Rowling at the end (jointly with Ari). I'm so glad I got to spend time with her again at Misticon and afterwards. But it was never enough.

Thank you for coming back to LJ to share your memories of her. I've missed you.

Thank you my friend. *hugs you back* I've missed you as well. We were going to contact you to see if we could visit you on our UK trip. Still hard to believe that won't be happening now.

Yeah, that trial of JKR was amazing. I wish we had recorded it somehow but at least we have the memories. Do you still do Misticons?

I've been thinking about you for the past two days. *hugs you tightly

Your memories are so like mine. We can point to her qualities - her brilliance, her generosity, her amazing sense of fun - and we can say how she made our lives better. All that is true. But how do we say what a loss this is for the world?

I had no idea that it had gotten so bad, either. And I expect that she wanted it that way. Not to exclude those who loved her but to protect us. Because that's who she was.

She loved you so much. Never lose track of that. It is truly the greatest gift, which you returned to her in perfect harmony.

Thank you so much Annie for your beautiful thoughts. I've been thinking of you as well. You're so right about why she didn't share what was happening. There's no doubt she was protecting us. Thank you so much for reminding me of that and of so much more. He friend allowed me to speak to her before the end. I told her how much I loved her and would miss her. I hope she heard me. I'm sure she already knew but I hope she heard me any way. Arrrgh, this is SO hard. Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean so much to me.

She was so happy to know you were at the last Worldcon event she attended. I hope you were able to meet up there but I don't remember. Amy will be greatly missed by so very many people. She did so much good in the world, there's no way to calculate or express the loss.

Thank you for helping me to cope. And for helping to celebrate her life.

Still hanging on in Potterdom. I had heard about Amy. A friend had called me as I've been off line and I lost my job and I too had a death in the family in early january. I remember 2007 as being the first time I met Amy, at Phoenix Rising. We went on the Prophecy. Hugs. It is never easy to lose one of our own.

Hi Droxy. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hugs you back.

Loss is truly never easy. Turns out the memorial is this Saturday. I'll be there to pay my respects to her family and friends. I'll do my best to express sympathy from all of her Potter friends.

She really did matter in the world. Her Memorial service was very impressive. There were over 200 people and lots of personal stories shared. She received tributes from her work which included a statement from the Governor. And her beloved Order of Elks took really good care of her. It was moving to see and be a part of. I did my best to express our sympathies to her family and friends and share silly fandom stories.

Amy will be greatly missed by many.
