Reasons why Snape is not dead:

I thought we'd start off this comm by listing the reasons why Snape is still alive. Put in your contributions. Let's make an extensive list which will silence any disbelievers ;) I'll start off:

1. Snape is an accomplished potions master. Accomplished potions masters don't die of snake bites.

I've heard that people, that have to work with snakes (eg. extracting their poison etc) get more 'immune' even resistent to said poison.. The bleeding is another thing though O_O

one more thing: Snape was never said to be 'dead' (sure Voldie said that but he left while Snape was still alive so..) but, unlike other characters that were explicitly pronounced 'dead', Snape never was!

Do remember that Arthur Weasley survived an attempted killing by Nagini.

While I highly doubt there's a chance he survived in canon, it's totally do-able for fanfiction.
