After the Housewarming

The floor of Bill's flat materialized beneath her feet and Pansy's head felt as if it had been cleaved in two. Joint Apparition always had this effect on her, which was why she rarely attempted it. She breathed her way through a wave of nausea and looked at Bill.

"Are you in one piece?"

Looking himself over to make sure nothing had been splinched and completely oblivious to Pansy's distress Bill grinned widely. "Everything appears to be in the right place. Want to check just to be sure?"

Her head hurt entirely too much to voice her objections to his comment. "Come on, Sport. You're going to bed. Alone."

She had got him as far as his bedroom door when another wave of nausea hit. There was no breathing through this one. She covered her mouth and ran to the loo.

Pansy couldn't remember ever feeling so sick. She ran cold water in the basin and washed her face. The nausea had subsided but the headache was still so bad she could hardly see. She opened Bills potions cabinet and searched for a pain potion. Bottles crashed into the basin as her clumsy hands searched and finally curled around what she was looking for. She took a long sip and said a prayer of thanksgiving to potions masters everywhere when her headache promptly disappeared.

She returned to the bedroom and looked at Bill.

"What are you doing?" she asked wearily.

He idly wondered where Pansy had run off to, but his brain was too muddled to put too much thought into it. Sitting on the edge of his bed, Bill pulled off his boots, then socks, leaving them scattered on the floor.

He stood then, wondered what the odd noise he kept hearing was - never realizing it was Pansy retching - and stripped off his shirt. He was just pushing his jeans down when a female voice from behind him nearly made him jump out of his skin.

"Pansy?" he asked, looking around as if she'd just materialized out of no where. But then it did register faintly in his pickled mind that she didn't look so good.

"You okay, Princess?"

"I'm better now, thank you." Pansy took a moment to look at him - really look at him. He stood there bare chested with his trousers open and Pansy stopped breathing.

"Uh...uh....uh....I have to go. You'll stay here tonight, right? Kingsley will haul me into the dungeons if you go out again."
