Question about Seating

How does seating work? More importantly if I buy a ticket for my friend and I, would we be seated together?

You have to buy your tickets in the same purchase to ensure getting seated together (assuming we're not talking about general admission.)

For example, 4 of us are going and one of us is buying all the tickets tomorrow so that we will have seats together.

Yes, for panels you will. If it's like Chicago, you pretty much sit where you want for the desert parties and I think it will be either random or assigned seating for the breakfast - but you and your friend will still be together most likely. Seating for the panels goes in order of the ticket orders, so the first person who gets a gold ticket will be center and the next one closer towards the end of the rows and so forth.
