Title: The Company You Keep
Rating: R
Summary: Sasuke's been captured, Naruto lets himself get captured, they both end up in the same cell, and by some miracle, they don't kill each other right off the bat.
Warnings: language, rough sex, nearly blind Sasuke
A/N: This fic is pretty bipolar, swapping between darker moments and lighter moments in no time at all, but it never leans too far either way (I hope). There are also a ton of mooks in this fic, so sorry if the action gets a bit tedious. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy. :)

The Company You Keep

Akamaru let out a warning growl and Kiba gave his signal to the other two before disappearing into the trees. Naruto and Sakura hid themselves and their chakra signals as they settled in around the campsite.

After nearly a month of searching and following dead trails, they'd finally tracked down the scent of two members that belonged to an organization specializing in the capture and trade of shinobi with bloodline limits. They'd been discovered in Konoha when two agents nearly succeeded in kidnapping the youngest Hyuuga daughter, but before they could be interrogated, they bit down on suicide tablets and were dead within moments of capture. With Madara missing again and Tsunade back in charge, it was decided that the best course of action was to deal with any visible threats for the time being. Naruto had been one of the first to volunteer, hoping to find hints of Madara or Sasuke's location while out on missions.

Sitting around for the most part of three weeks, however, with no luck and no signs, was boring as shit as Naruto and his team of Sakura, Kiba and Akamaru quickly came to discover.

But now they were surrounding two soldiers of the mysterious organization, and they were going to get the job done and finally go home. Naruto had a craving for ramen so bad he'd been dreaming of Ichiraku for the last week and a half. He started thinking about it again as the four of them surrounded the small camp, and he was so lost in his daydreams he nearly missed the slip of a familiar name from one of the men they were about to capture.

"Is it true someone nabbed a guy with a Sharingan? Aren't all the Uchiha dead?"

Naruto snapped to attention, feeling all the blood drain from his face. It couldn't be, he thought for a panicked second.

"All but the one in Akatsuki and the runt that survived the massacre. He's the one they caught. Must've brought in one hell of a paycheck, whoever took him in."

Naruto lunged without even thinking about it. He heard Sakura shrieking his name, but he had one of the men in his hands in seconds, and he shoved a thumb in the guy's mouth to grab the suicide capsule before he had even reacted. Sakura went for the other man, using a chakra-infused fist to knock him out in one blow. Kiba and Akamaru were still hidden, just in case something went wrong, but Naruto wasn't thinking about them at all.

"Naruto, what the fuck?" Sakura hissed, but he ignored her.

"Do you know who I am?" Naruto asked, but the man he was holding shook his head. "I'm the container for the nine-tailed fox. I'm probably worth a lot, right?"

The man's eyes went wide and Naruto tightened his grip until he nodded.

"I want you to take me to where they're keeping Uchiha Sasuke--"

"Naruto--" Sakura seethed, but Naruto continued talking.

"-- and you can get all the credit and that big, fat paycheck for bringing me in. I won't fight you, and this isn't a trick. I'm sure your bosses know plenty of people who want to get their hands on someone like me. This girl won't follow us," he added, indicating Sakura for the first time, "and she will have orders not to come looking for me."

Sakura said nothing, but looked furious even out of the corner of his eye.

"So? Do we have a deal?"

The man was silent for a minute before shaking his head.

"No."

In a flash, Naruto had a kunai in his hand, pressing it hard enough against the man's neck to draw blood.

"Do we have a deal?" Naruto repeated, but the man just shook his head again.

"You have to kill her," the man said calmly, "and your friend in the bushes. I can't bring you anywhere if there's a chance we'll be followed."

"Naruto. Cut it out already. Knock him out and let's go--" Sakura barked, but she was interrupted by a kunai through the chest. She fell to the ground in a heap as blood pooled around her, and from the trees Kiba appeared, rushing to her side in an instant. Kiba swore and held his hands above her helplessly, not sure what to do or if there was any point in trying. Naruto caught him with a kunai through the neck, and he fell over beside Sakura's limp body, making gurgling noises until he, too, was lifeless.

"That good?" Naruto asked.

"You did that easily," the man pointed out. He didn't sound suspicious, but Naruto let him go and pulled up his shirt, indicating his jinchuuriki mark.

"Nine-tailed fox, remember?"

After Naruto had been tied up to meet the agent's satisfaction, then knocked out and carried away, Sakura released the genjutsu and stormed out of the bushes, Kiba and Akamaru following her.

"That asshole!" she shouted, "Did you see that? He killed me!"

"The guy told him to. And it was a genjutsu, anyway, so what's it matter?" Kiba shrugged. Sakura folded her arms across her chest and let out a huff, kicking the ground hard enough to make a crater five meters wide.

"He didn't have to do it so eagerly."

Kiba realized that this was one of those things that Sakura was going to hold against Naruto forever. He felt a little bad for Naruto, but it was true he'd done it with very little hesitation. The actual plan had still involved genjutsu, just in case, but Naruto wasn't supposed to dive in there and offer himself as a captive. Kiba was aware that Sasuke was a raw topic for both Sakura and Naruto, but Naruto seemed to go crazy whenever he was mentioned.

Kiba felt it was best to move on and let out a loud cough.

"So, uh, now what?"

"Well, this wasn't the original plan, but I'll take dummy here," she paused to kick the still-unconscious body of the other agent, "back to the village and give him to the interrogation team. How long will Naruto's trail last?"

"Maybe a day and a half? His scent is stronger and more familiar than most, so Akamaru and I can wait a little longer."

"Then you'll stay here, and if he doesn't come back by tomorrow night, you follow him and find wherever they've taken him. Send us a bird if you need back up getting him out."

Kiba glared at the ground and snarled while Akamaru let out a sad whine.

"Great. More camping."

Naruto could hear voices coming from somewhere nearby, but as he slowly woke up, he made sure to keep his eyes closed. No need to let them know he was conscious yet.

"... and you just ganked him? Like that? There's no way-- he's a jinchuuriki!"

"I'm telling you, it's the truth. We spotted him and went for it. He managed to kill Kanda before I could knock him out, though."

Naruto recognized that voice as the man he'd made the deal with. Apparently Kanda was the other agent that had been at the campsite. While he was sure Sakura hadn't killed him, it was likely after getting interrogated back in Konoha he wouldn't ever be coming back here, so the lie probably wouldn't get exposed.

"Damn. How much you getting paid for this?"

"Enough that I won't have to work at the cages ever again."

"Lucky bastard. Since you're so rich now, let's go gambling."

"I like the way you think."

The voices slowly faded out as the two men left wherever they had put Naruto. When he was sure they were gone, he blinked open his eyes and realized he was in some kind of basement and surrounded by either concrete or steel bars.

"What a cheery place," he commented, pushing himself up. He noticed that there was only one other cell across the hallway. Apparently, this was where they took the big catches. Looking around, he spotted a few loose rocks and grabbed them, tossing them into the other cage. It was too dark to see if anyone else was in there, but he figured he'd give it a shot.

"Hey. Heeeeeeeeeeey. Anybody over there?" he whispered, tossing the rocks and hitting the cell bars hard enough to make noise. When there was no response, he shrugged and stood up, dusting himself off. He had no idea what the security was like in this place, but this particular part of the compound was empty except for himself as far as he could tell. Walking up to the bars of his cell and taking one in each hand, he took a deep breath and focused chakra into his fists before pulling them apart wide enough for him to slip through. He ran over to the other cell to double check, and it was definitely empty.

He wondered how often anyone was brought here, but he shook his head, knowing there wasn't time to think about that, and headed for the exit. If the agent had kept his part of the deal, Sasuke was here somewhere, and Naruto was going to find him.

The stairway out of the basement was long and narrow, and he figured no one came down there very often to avoid the hassle of carrying captives up and down so many steps. It took him a good ten minutes to reach the top, and he was careful to listen for any footsteps before sneaking out. He made sure to mask his chakra and stick to the ceiling as he explored. The place was built like a nonsensical maze, and Naruto wasn't sure if he was getting anywhere or not. Most of the hallways and rooms he came upon were empty, and there were no windows so he had no idea what time of day it was or how long he'd been knocked out. But since so few people were around, he guessed it had to be a meal or break time.

He explored for another few minutes before a faint noise caught his ear. He listened hard for a few moments, then headed in the direction of the noise once he could tell where it was coming from, not sure what it was until he got a little closer. With a sick jolt, he realized it was a little kid crying.

Dropping down from the ceiling, Naruto bolted around corners and dashed through corridors until he reached the room all the crying was coming from. There was a small window on the door, and quickly peering in, he knew instantly that these were the cages the agent had been talking about earlier.

There were four rows of cells, all filled with children, that went down the entire room. Most were sleeping, but several were awake and crying. They all looked filthy and too skinny, like they'd never bathed and rarely got fed. Naruto's eyes narrowed and his heart began pounding in his chest. He was furious and disgusted, and he wanted to burst in and break them all out before going after every single member of this organization and ripping them to shreds.

He moved to open the door and do just that when a voice carried down the hallway and he quickly returned to hiding against the ceiling.

"I hate it when they cry," the voice said, and it sounded like a young man.

"Most of them are barely four years old. Can you blame them?" another voice answered, and this one was a woman. Soon, the two speakers came into view, and the young man looked nervous and uncomfortable while the woman just seemed irritated. "You're the newbie, so you get to feed them."

"Why me? What about you?" he protested.

"I have Uchiha duty," she sighed.

Naruto stared down at them both, torn between staying or following the woman. He knew if he let all the children go and attacked the agents, it was likely many of them would get killed if he tried to get them out on his own. And even though he hated the idea of them being neglected and treated so poorly for even longer, he knew someone would be coming after him soon, and their back up could do more for the children than he could on his own.

But he still felt selfish and cruel as he trailed after the woman, leaving the crying children in their cages behind.

As the woman wandered through hallway after hallway, she started grumbling to herself, "Stupid Uchiha brat. Don't know why we even bother keeping him alive. Can't even use his Sharingan, anymore. Worthless."

Naruto was almost ready to attack her when she stopped in front of what appeared to be a dead end. She tapped against the wall in a weird rhythm and suddenly the wall disappeared. Naruto made sure to remember it as he followed after her quickly, barely making it into the hidden room before the wall closed up again.

"Alright, kid, lunchtime," the woman grumbled.

Naruto stared into the cage at the end of the room with disbelief. There was Sasuke, sitting scrunched up against the wall, head resting on his arms. He didn't move or make a sound, even as the woman dropped a bowl of rice into the cage lazily, letting half of it spill across the filthy floor. The woman waited for a few seconds, but when he didn't move or even acknowledge her, she shrugged and rolled her eyes, turning and leaving.

When Naruto couldn't hear her footsteps or her grumbling anymore, he dropped down to the ground, just in time for a chopstick to go whizzing by his ear.

"Shit--" he swore, falling away before glancing over at the cell where Sasuke was staring right at him.

"I missed," Sasuke grumbled before grabbing the second chopstick and trying again. Naruto dodged that one and ran at the bars.

"Sasuke-- Holy shit, Sasuke! Why are you-- How'd they even-- Wait a second, did you just try to kill me with a chopstick?!"

Sasuke ignored him, picking up the bowl of rice -- that was now only half full -- and eating it sloppily with his fingers.

"Sasuke? It's me. You remember me, right? I mean, we just saw each other two months ago," Naruto whispered, but Sasuke wasn't answering him. Growing frustrated, he focused on the bars and bent them outwards, just enough for him to slip through.

But the moment he got into the cell, Sasuke was on top of him, hands around his throat and holding him to the floor. Naruto flailed and made desperate noises as Sasuke strangled him, unable to throw him off or pull his hands away until a well-placed kick to the stomach made Sasuke's grip loosen enough for him to scramble away.

"What the hell?" Naruto coughed, massaging his neck against the opposite wall. Sasuke continued staring at the floor where Naruto had been moments ago, before returning to his side of the cell. "Well, now that the attempts at murder are out of the way, mind explaining why you even got caught and dragged here in the first place?"

Sasuke said nothing, staring at his hands.

"Or how about why that woman was mumbling about how you can't use the Sharingan anymore?"

The bowl of rice came flying at his head, and he barely managed to get out of the way as it crashed with the wall and broke into pieces. Sasuke was on top of him again in seconds, but this time he grabbed Naruto by the collar and just shook him angrily.

"Why won't you leave me alone?" Sasuke hollered, "Why do you have to keep following me? How many times do I have to tell you I'm not coming back to Konoha?"

"Because I'm your friend--" Naruto started to shout back, but Sasuke punched him hard across the face.

"Fuck you, you moron. Friends don't obsess like you do. Everyone else wants me dead, and they'd be glad to kill me themselves, except you. Do you even realize it?" Sasuke spat, pulling Naruto's face even closer. "Do you even know what you want? It's written all over your fucking face. I know exactly what you want. And you know what? Since you managed to find me here, I'll give it to you."

"What are you talking about?" Naruto blinked, confused. Sasuke snarled and punched him again before tearing at his clothes. "Woah, woah, woah! Why do I have to be naked?!"

"How stupid can you be?" Sasuke shouted as he pulled Naruto's slacks past his knees, "This is what you've always wanted, right?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, and you're freaking me out," Naruto flailed, reaching for his pants to pull them back up, but Sasuke grabbed his hands and held them to the floor above his head, bringing their faces close together. He rolled his hips down against Naruto's, and Naruto let out a gasp before biting down hard on his lip. He stared up into Sasuke's black eyes and thought hard for a few minutes, when suddenly it hit him.

"Wait a minute. Sasuke, are you--" he paused and glanced around warily, even though no one was there, and continued in a whisper, "... are you talking about sex?"

Sasuke was silent for a long while before letting go of Naruto's hands and sitting back up.

"Your stupidity astounds me."

"Oh my God, you are? You think I want to have sex with you?"

Sasuke groaned and started to push himself up when Naruto caught him by the elbow and pulled him back down.

"Do you want me to have sex with you?"

"Stop touching me," Sasuke sneered, but Naruto just held on tighter.

"It's okay, if that's what you want."

Sasuke stared at him with a horrified look, but Naruto's face showed that he was entirely earnest.

"You cannot be that dumb. Are you seriously offering yourself to me?"

"Well, if that's what you want--"

"No! What is wrong with you? Why do you always do this--"

"Because we're friends," Naruto insisted.

"Friends don't have sex with each other! Especially not male friends, you dumbass!"

"Some do."

"Well, not us. Definitely not us."

"Why not?"

"Because you're Konoha's poster boy, and I hate you."

Naruto's eyebrows knitted together for a second before he burst out in a wide grin. Sasuke tried again to pull away, but Naruto tugged him into his lap.

"Why are you smiling? Let go of me already."

"You didn't deny it," Naruto beamed.

"Deny what?" Sasuke snarled.

"That we're friends."

"We aren't," Sasuke corrected immediately.

"We're friends and you want to have sex with me," Naruto giggled. Sasuke raised an eyebrow before clawing at the ground with one hand. "What are you looking for?"

"Something to gouge your eyes out with."

After a brief scuffle -- where Sasuke managed to finally escape Naruto's clutches and knock him out with a sharp elbow to the face -- Sasuke returned to his side of the cell to stare at the floor some more. When Naruto was conscious again, he sat up and tossed a piece of the broken bowl over to Sasuke to catch his attention.

"So, hey. Wanna bust outta here?"

"No."

"What? Why not? How much fun can it be to sit around here?"

But Sasuke was back to not talking again, and Naruto made a frustrated grunt before pushing himself onto his feet and walking over the cell bars. He noticed the bars he had bent were still open wide enough for them both to slip through, but while he was unconscious, Sasuke hadn't made any move to escape. Belatedly, he realized that the security around this room was fairly lax, even with the special hidden door.

"You don't want to leave, do you? And they know it," he growled, whipping around and glaring angrily at Sasuke. "It's true what that woman said, about you not being able to use the Sharingan. Even though you were using it fine last time."

Sasuke didn't move at all, unlike the last time Naruto mentioned the Sharingan, but the silence all but confirmed it.

"What did Madara do?"

Naruto took three steps and grabbed Sasuke by the shirt, tugging him onto his feet. Sasuke gave him an annoyed glare, but Naruto shoved him against the cement wall and asked again.

"What did Madara do?"

"He gave me what I asked for. And then he took it away."

"What?" Naruto blinked, surprised to have gotten an answer and confused as to what the answer even meant. But he could tell Sasuke wasn't going to say anymore about it, so he let go of Sasuke's shirt and sighed. "Well, I'm not leaving until you explain or let me drag you out of here, so which will it be?"

Sasuke's face grew even paler, if that was possible, at the options, but eventually he slid back down and sat on the floor, too stubborn to let Naruto make him leave when he didn't want to -- even if that meant being stuck in a small cage with him for the foreseeable future.

"Is this all they bring you?" Naruto frowned, looking hungrily at the sole bowl of rice that had been dropped in the cell for dinner. "No ramen? Not even a little chicken?"

Sasuke ignored him, keeping the bowl to himself.

The last several hours had been spent mostly in silence, with Naruto occasionally trying to strike up conversation, but quickly giving up when Sasuke clearly had no desire to humor him. When an agent came by to bring him dinner, Naruto had quickly unbent the two cell bars and disguised himself as an extra bar near the ceiling. The agent hadn't noticed at all, placing the bowl just inside the cell before walking out without saying a word.

"Maaaaaaaan," Naruto moaned, cracking his neck, "I could kill for some ramen. It's been almost a month since I had some Ichiraku's..."

"Would you shut up?" Sasuke hissed. It was the first thing he'd said since Naruto decided he was staying in the cell.

"But I'm hungryyyyyyy," Naruto whined. Just like when he'd first dropped in, Sasuke sent a chopstick flying towards him, narrowly missing his ear and lodging into the cement wall beside his head. "Would you stop trying to kill me with chopsticks, please."

"No."

"Well, at least your aim sucks."

"It does not."

"Does, too. Which is... kind of weird, actually," Naruto noted. Sasuke didn't look up from his dinner as Naruto thought quietly. It took him a while, but eventually he put the pieces together and stared incredulously at Sasuke on the other side of the cell.

"Can you see me?"

"Of course I can see you," Sasuke snapped.

"But you never miss. And you've missed me three--" He was interrupted by the second chopstick whizzing towards him, this time barely missing his neck to bounce harmlessly off the wall and onto the floor. "Make that four times today. You can't use the Sharingan, and you can't see very well either, can you?"

Sasuke snorted as he popped a fingerful of rice into his mouth.

"That's what Madara took from you, isn't it? He took your eyes."

"I'm surprised. You aren't completely stupid. How impressive."

"So, what, he took away your Sharingan and now you're having a pity party for yourself? You let these bastards capture you and hold you here, even though you could break out whenever you wanted, because you want to feel sorry for yourself, when you're still stronger than pretty much everyone we know -- even with shitty eyesight."

"Shut up. What do you know?" Sasuke glared.

"I know you're being a huge baby," Naruto shrugged.

"And you're being a nuisance. Just fuck off back to where you came from and leave me alone."

"No. I'm not leaving here without you."

"For fuck's sake-- Why? And if you say 'because we're friends' one more time, I will end you. Violently."

"Then I won't say anything, because you already know."

Sasuke let out a defeated groan and dropped the bowl of rice, apparently having lost his appetite.

"So you really thought I wanted to have sex with you?"

"Stop. Talking."

"No, I'm serious. Why were you so convinced that I'm gay?"

"You weren't protesting too hard when I brought it up, moron."

"That's just 'cause I'll do anything for you."

"... And you're always saying stuff like that."

"Like what? ... Like what!"

"Hey, Sasuke," Naruto whispered, nudging at Sasuke's shoulder. "Hey, are you sleeping?"

"I am trying to sleep, yes," Sasuke mumbled grumpily.

"Did you mean it?"

"Whatever you're asking about, I don't care. Leave me alone."

"So... You didn't mean it when you said we aren't friends?"

Sasuke sat up in a flash and slammed Naruto onto the cold, concrete floor, scrambling on top of him to keep him still.

"I am sick and tired of listening to you go on and on about 'friendship' every time I see you, so I'm going to explain something to you. I'm going to do it once, and you're going to listen and remember, because I've had enough of you being obstinately stupid. We are not friends. We have never been friends. I have never seen you as anything more than an annoyance and an obstacle, and I just want to be free of you. I will be free of you. Even with these useless eyes of mine, I can still kill you."

"So why don't you?" Naruto whispered, eyes full of challenge.

"Because--"

But he never got any further than that when a loud alarm started blaring through the compound, coming both from inside the cell and through the walls. Sasuke glared angrily around the room, looking for the speaker to make it stop, while Naruto used the distraction to shove Sasuke off of him.

"Do you think they have alarms for escaped prisoners?"

"Probably."

"Oh... They must've found out I'm not in my cell anymore, then."

Sasuke whipped around to stare at Naruto in a mix of annoyance and disbelief.

"You let them capture you?"

"Well, yeah. How did you think I got here?"

"I thought you snuck in!"

"Well, I would've if we could find the place first."

"I knew all Konoha shinobi were feckless, but this is ridiculous--"

"I am not feckless! Whatever that means, anyway."

Sasuke brought a hand to his face to massage the bridge of his nose, bemoaning his hellish company, before the door to the room whooshed open and four agents rushed in through the doorway.

"Found it," one of them spoke into a headset, but a moment later he was stabbed between the eyes with a chopstick. Naruto was out of the cell in seconds, slipping between arms and legs, tripping and tricking the flustered group of shinobi with ease, while Sasuke sat in the middle of the cell, squinting to try and make out what was happening better. The fight took barely any time at all, and soon Naruto was standing in the middle of a pile of bodies.

"You did that fast," Sasuke remarked.

"Told you I'm not feckless," Naruto insisted while sticking out his tongue, before adding with a raised eyebrow, "And you didn't feel like helping because...?"

"Not worth my time."

"You may have to help out in a few minutes, because more of them are going to be coming. We should get out of here."

"What do you mean 'we'?"

But before Naruto could argue anymore, another group of agents arrived, but this time there were a lot more than four of them, and most were holding weapons. Naruto looked between Sasuke, sitting disinterested in his cell, and the smug-looking shinobi in the doorway, and sighed.

"Crap."

Naruto woke up sometime later, groaning as he moved. He was bruised and sore all over, and he was pretty sure someone had kicked him in the nuts just to be an asshole. He sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes and blinking as he looked around. He was still surrounded by bars, but he could hear a buzz floating through the room, and figured they must have been electrified. The walls and floor were cleaner, which meant this was a newer cell, recently made just for especially big troublemakers, but it was still mostly dark except for the torches at the ends of the room and by the large, barricaded door.

"Great," he grumbled, moving to stretch out his arms and yawn when something caught him by the wrists and stopped him. Looking at his arms, he finally noticed two large shackles clasped around them, chain trailing back to the wall. The chain was long enough to let him stray a few feet from the wall, but still short enough to keep him from reaching the cell bars. Glancing back over his shoulder, he spotted Sasuke curled up against the wall, and let out a sigh of relief before crawling over to him. He had just enough give on his chains to reach him, and started tugging at his shirt.

"Sasuke. Heeeeeeeeeeeey, wake up."

"Getoffme," Sasuke mumbled, still mostly asleep, swatting at Naruto's hands.

"No, c'mon, get up and help me with these," Naruto pouted, shaking Sasuke harder.

"I said get off," Sasuke growled, turning over to kick Naruto square in the stomach. He would've flown into the cell bars if the shackles around his wrist hadn't kept him from going too far. Sasuke sat up and squinted as he looked around, grimacing. "They moved me."

"Glad you noticed," Naruto coughed, "Now help me take these things off."

"No. Do it yourself."

"It would be easier if you helped me instead of being an asshole for five seconds," Naruto grumbled, pushing himself up onto his knees and wincing as he adjusted and stretched one of his bruises.

"Stop bothering me," Sasuke hissed.

"Oh, come on," Naruto sighed, rolling his eyes before crawling back over towards Sasuke, "It'll just take a minute."

"Don't come over here," Sasuke barked, startling Naruto enough to make him pause.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just-- stay over there."

"No, you're acting weird. What's wrong?" Naruto insisted, continuing forward despite Sasuke's shouts for him to go away until he was right next to him. Sasuke's hands immediately covered his lap, and Naruto stared before bursting out laughing. "Oh, that's it? You're hard?"

"Shut. Up. It's because it's morning. It'll go away, and you need to back up before I kick you in the face," Sasuke snarled.

"How about a trade?"

"What?"

"I'll help you get off, and you help get these," he paused, holding up his shackled wrists, "off of me."

"I thought you said you weren't gay."

"Yeah, but I already told you. I'll do anything for you," Naruto smiled, before reaching his hands forward. Sasuke tensed and shut his eyes, but noticed that after a few seconds, nothing was happening. Peeking out of one eye, he saw Naruto glowering at the chains which had stopped him from moving any more.

"Oh, for fuck's sake," Sasuke shouted, grabbing the shackles and breaking them in his hands. Naruto stared down at his freed wrists and back up at Sasuke with a smug grin.

"I knew it. You faker."

"Blow me."

"Okay."

"We are never to speak of this again."

"It wasn't that bad... Was it?"

Sasuke answered him by kicking him where he had the most bruises along his side.

Once he could breathe again, Naruto whispered weakly, "I'll take that as a 'maybe'."

Naruto paced the cell, staring intensely at the steel bars keeping them in. The buzzing sound was still present, and to check if he'd been right about the electricity, he tossed whatever loose rocks he could find at the bars, hearing loud crackling noises each time one hit against the steel. He couldn't just slip out, like he had before, and he couldn't blow anything up, because from the lack of windows and the compound's willingness to have such a loud alarm, they were probably underground, and trying to blow his way out would result in a cave in, and he couldn't risk that with the children still in their cages.

"Oi, Sasuke. Stop being useless and help me figure out how to get us out of here."

"But you're doing such a great job on your own," Sasuke drawled.

"Really?" Naruto asked, peering over his shoulder at the lump by the wall that was his cellmate.

"No. Not really."

"... You're a jerk."

Naruto went back to focusing on the bars, while Sasuke went back to glaring angrily at his crotch, which he still hadn't forgiven for what happened earlier that morning.

"I give up," Naruto announced several hours later, flopping onto the concrete floor.

"Congratulations," Sasuke mumbled with a roll of his eyes.

Naruto had tried several things -- like wearing his rubber-soled shoes on his hands, forcing his chakra outward to try and cancel the electricity, and even just kicking the shit out of one of the steel bars -- only to come away unsuccessful each time. Still trapped, sore and impatient, he didn't feel like trying anymore. At least for the time being, anyway.

"Someone should be coming for me eventually, anyway. Might as well just wait."

Sasuke glanced over at him, but quickly returned to grimacing down at his lap.

"Still working with Sakura and the old loser?"

"Who, Kakashi-sensei? Sometimes. This time Kiba came along instead."

Sasuke's lip curled disapprovingly.

"You keep horrible company."

"That would explain why I'm friends with you."

Sasuke didn't say anything to that, but Naruto rolled onto his stomach and stared at Sasuke with a slowly spreading grin.

"You didn't deny it again."

"I'm sick of explaining myself."

"I'm pretty sure that's not it. I mean, you went from threatening to kill me -- again -- all of yesterday, to letting me suck you off this morning, which could never have happened unless you were lying about the whole hating-my-guts thing."

Sasuke lunged at him, and the two rolled over and over together until Sasuke managed to get on top of Naruto and pin him. Naruto slowly took Sasuke's hands and placed them around his neck.

"So which will it be?" he asked with a smile.

Sasuke's grip tightened for a second before his hands went straight for Naruto's pants, tugging and ripping them down his legs when he lost patience with the zipper. Naruto huffed laughter into Sasuke's hair before letting out a groan when Sasuke started grinding down against him. Suddenly there was a hand on his hip, gripping too hard where he was bruised and hurt, and he let out a hiss of pain, but either Sasuke didn't notice or he didn't care.

Naruto had never done this before, and he had no idea if Sasuke had, either, but Sasuke seemed to know what to do, so Naruto trusted him and let him take the lead. The hand still digging into Naruto's skin started to push until Naruto realized he was being flipped over. It was uncomfortable laying on the concrete floor, but he forgot all about it when he felt Sasuke pressing a finger into him and he let out a gasp.

"Shit, Sasuke-- Warn a guy," Naruto grunted, breathing heavily through his nose and clenching his hands into fists at the uncomfortable, but not wholly unpleasant, sensation. Sasuke didn't listen, though, pressing in a second finger without a word of warning. Naruto shouted in surprise as the distinct feeling of chakra started flooding out of Sasuke's fingers and into him, numbing and relaxing him. Soon the fingers were gone, and the hand was back on his hip, pressing him into the floor and ignoring his bruises, while Sasuke rubbed his erection against Naruto's ass.

Growing tired of waiting, Naruto reached a hand back behind him, grabbing a fistful of Sasuke's shirt and tugging him forward.

"Get on with it," he breathed, but Sasuke just swatted away his hand.

"This is going to hurt," Sasuke muttered into his ear before surging forward. Despite the brief preparation Naruto had been given, it was still too much, too fast, and his hands scrambled against the cold floor before settling on balling into fists as he tried to hold in his shouts. He bit down into his lip hard enough to break it and taste blood on his tongue, but he managed to keep himself from crying out. With each thrust, Naruto struggled to keep quiet, but he was quickly giving up as discomfort turned into pleasure.

"Sasuke," he panted, wincing as another bruise got pressed hard into the floor.

"You never stop talking, do you?" Sasuke grunted back, his rhythm starting to fall apart.

"Nngh-- Sasuke," Naruto called out again, reaching a hand underneath himself to grab his neglected erection and work it fast with his fist. Sasuke's rhythm had quickly dissolved into nothing but desperate thrusts as he got closer to orgasm, eventually losing control and spilling himself inside of Naruto with a stifled grunt. Naruto followed soon after, soiling his hand with a satisfied groan.

Before passing out, he felt a kiss on the back of his neck, and he fell asleep with a blissed out smile on his face.

"Um."

"He's not wearing pants."

"Yeah."

"Why isn't he--"

"I don't think we want to know."

"... Nn?" Naruto mumbled groggily, opening his eyes slowly. Standing over him were Sakura and Kiba, with equally concerned and disturbed expressions on their faces. Naruto sat up in a flash, looking around and seeing he was still in the cell, but with the bars blown apart and Sasuke nowhere in sight. "Where's Sasuke?" he asked, before realizing he was half naked and scrambling to pull on his pants.

"We just found you, Naruto. If he was here, it was a long time before we managed to get down here," Sakura sighed.

"What about the kids?" he asked, moving to stand up but stopping when pain suddenly shot through his lower half and he collapsed back onto his backside.

"We got them all out. Most of the agents had been taken down before we got here, so it didn't take very long," Kiba explained, offering a hand to help him up. Naruto took it, wincing as he pulled himself up. "You okay? You look like shit. Uh, no offense."

"I'll be fine. Most of my bruises have already healed, it's just--"

"If you are about to tell me you had sex with Sasuke, I'd rather we just not talk about it," Sakura interrupted, turning and walking away hurriedly.

"Yeah. I'm fine with not hearing about that, either," Kiba agreed, slapping him on the arm before following after Sakura. "C'mon whenever you're ready."

Naruto watched as they walked out of the room before turning to look around the cell one last time. He had figured Sasuke wouldn't stick around, but he wasn't particularly upset about it. He was less of a danger now, even if he was still the same stubborn bastard as always. Naruto just hoped tracking him down next time would be less of a pain in the ass. As he started heading out to follow after Kiba and Sakura, he smiled to himself.

"Even if we aren't friends, he can't deny we're something now."
