I think the Leviathan is killed by angels in the Bible. I would have to research that. It just seems to me that the strongest up against an ancient monster would be the eldest and most powerful angels. But really it would come down to what would be best for Michael and Lucifer because they aren't going to destroy the leviathan out of the kindness of their hearts (they don't have any). It seems Death could also destroy the Leviathan, but like he said to Sam, why should he?
So those who can destroy the leviathan would need a good reason that benefited them.
As for Lucifer, hmmmm. I found it interesting that the Road So Far went back to season five and showed Nick!Lucifer morph into Sam!Lucifer. I would like to see some sort of Lucifer presence this year, could be scary and menacing. Jared did say he found the scripts he saw to be really scary. I would like to be scared.
I wouldn't mind if Lucifer had a communication line set up with Sam. Don't ask why or how!

That's interesting about the angels being the ones to kill the Leviathans. Since most of the Archangels in Supernatural are dead I would say Michael is their only hope and Lucifer. But you're right they're not going to do it out of the kindness of their hearts. Hm, maybe a nice buffet of human souls. Just a thought ;) ... Now, Death on the other hand he might do it for the best fried food in the world!

That right there is a scary thought. Who knows, maybe that's what's happening. Lucifer is having his fun with Sam and when the time is right he will make a deal with the boys. Free Michael, kill the Leviathans and save the world. But at what cost, though? Sam's sanity maybe. (I know I'm evil to even think that!)
