Lazarus Rising - Perceiving An Angel's True Visage

Jan 04, 2010 19:02

I haven't watched 'Skin' yet. So this is not the marathon post, however I did remember something and it was bugging me.

In 'Lazarus Rising' Castiel tells Dean the reason Dean couldn't hear his true voice was because Dean wasn't special that way. Castiel said that he thought Dean would be able to perceive his true visage and he said he was wrong. So ( Read more... )

I'm not sure if you've seen all episodes of Season 5 so far. IF you haven't - then don't read further than this. POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR SEASON 5 for you ( ... )

I've seen all the seasons so far :) I just don't want spoilers that are about the coming episodes in season 5.

I see what you're saying. So because Dean couldn't hear Castiel and perceive his true visage, doesn't mean he won't be able to with Michael. Hmmm, I'm wondering though if Michael will be able to talk to Dean without Dean bleeding from the ears, if he is a vessel. I don't believe Dean is Michael but I don't think Dean is the vessel either. There's just something that doesn't quite fit and I think it has a lot to do with the whole ending scene of 'AAH' when Dean shoots Lucifer.

If Dean does turn out to be Michael (which I highly doubt) do you think Castiel knows?

I'm not sure how much Cas knew when he first met Dean. I'm pretty sure he could tell that Dean was vessel material due to his comment "certain special people can see my true visage". But there was also an outtake line where Cas said the human vessel had to be durible enough to contain him. I also took that as a hint that Dean was chosen to be a vessel.

I think that Michael would find a way to communicate with Dean if he could or if he wanted to. I keep feeling he can't somehow reach out to Dean, otherwise, why not take a temportary vessel as Lucifer did.

However, I'm pretty sure Zack is not working for Michael. I doubt Michael sent him to pester Dean into agreeing, it seems more like Zach's personal agenda to me.

This all makes me wonder then if Lucifer is more in Sam's head then we even know. Maybe that's why Sam is looking quite disturbed by the words Lucifer speaks to him, like he's heard them before.

What if what the boys think is the obvious, is not so obvious? What if Michael is a real jerk and the best course of action is to try to end him?

These were the odd ideas that popped into my head, likely for no reason, when I was thinking about all of this.

Sort of like, big brother giving little brother the smack down he deserves and little brother responding accordingly. That would be interesting to see and it would be canon seeing as how that's exactly how Sam and Dean are. Dean being the bossy big bro and always putting Sam in his place, Sam being the one to retaliate and show big bro that he's just as good if not better. Hmmm, that would make Lucifer not the bad guy and I'm not sure how I would like that though o_o. Interesting very interesting. So if Michael does turn out to be the bad guy then where does Castiel fit in all of this?
