Prologue
When Dean - warrior, adored, noble - made his deal with the Crossroads Demon - liar, filth, interloper - He shuddered, head bowed, silent tears flowing down His face as he grieved with John and Mary for their children and what was to come…
When Samuel - potent, haunted, fallen - allowed the imp into his life, permitted his desperation to poison him slowly, swallowed her lies and deluded himself and opened the door for Lilith - deceiver, seducer, destroyer - to walk through He seethed, His fury barely contained, only She - mother, pure, hallowed - was able to comfort Him, to remind Him that this too shall pass…
When the Time came, the Vow fulfilled, the day She harkened Him to remember was to come and He - father, divine, revered - gave the order, He smiled, joyous and pleased, watching as Castiel - little one, innocent, true - removed from Sheol that which was not it’s to have in the first place.
On that day He laughed, loud and elated as He told John and Mary, knowing the words would be passed through each hall of heaven, first in a whisper, then in a shout until finally it became a battle cry the likes of which had not been heard in thousands of years…
