I had noticed the times this incident was mentioned and I had understood what she had done, but the description adds so much to my understanding, not only of the incident itself, but also of what magic is, in this world of yours. *g* and Sylvie is so young here. I loved that her first concern was for what she should wear, rather than what she would do. But the aftermath sobered her and taught her something important, I think. Thanks again.
Sylvie is so young here Yes, she very much is. In days, she matures rather a lot. Of necessity, I believe, but also from choice.
But the aftermath sobered her and taught her something important She never quite gets over the knowledge of what the people she loves could have been in another life. I think that, more than anything, haunts her and changes her.
