I love this so much. It was so beautiful and I felt like I was sitting right next to them watching a really private moment. This my favorite part:

“Rose,” he says, stroking her back with a touch as gentle as his voice, as gentle as he can possibly make them both. He’s not a gentle man, not a particularly careful man, but when it comes to her, he is.

I love that it's not even clear if they are just friends or if they are together...because you can just tell they love each other so much.
