Thanks so much! The fight scene at the reception was the scene I had the HARDEST time writing. I rewrote that thing SO many times . . . I'm finally happy with it, though, and I'm so glad to hear that it worked the way I wanted it to!

OH... what a spectacular ending! I must say I was a bit worried there when Rose gave Al the speech about even though she loved Scorpius he would never break his promise... What great emotion... I really enjoyed how you moved from past to the present and back again... it worked really well.

Thanks! Moving from the past to the present was inspired by a play Stop Kiss, where the scenes alternate back and forth, and the ones taking place in the latter half of the actual story keep refering to this huge "thing" that happened, and you see the aftermath, but you don't find out what actually happened until the end of the play. I really really wanted to use that slow reveal for this story.

Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ahhh, why do the kids always assume the parents won't be understanding? yes, they'll rant and rave but i just can't see someone like ron or harry or anyone else refusing to accept their child's significant other, regardless of that person's background.

having said that, i liked this fic a lot - especially how you switched between time frames, and the tension you created between rose and scorpius. one of the best parts was rose's relationship with ron, and the way you started and ended the story with that quote about rose and thorns.

I know, craziness, right? Well, don't blame Rose. She's too much like her mother - suffering under the delusion that she's not good enough.

That being said, I have written Rose/Scorpius in the past with that Ron reaction, and I'm really glad I was challenged in such a way as to migrate away from that, because I really like this better. I loved writing Rose and Ron, and I'm glad that you enjoyed my story!

Oh thank you for such an amazingly built up story! I loved this, from Rose and Scorpius carrying on their fathers' respective "principals" to Rose misinterpreting Ron, to her complete understanding of Scorpius's nobility. It's beautiful, all of it, and the ending is reminding me of a movie I very much liked but can't remember the name of.

Gah, just... thank you. The ending was an especially beautiful conclusion!

Oh, I'm sooo glad you liked it! I was so worried at first because I got halfway through my first draft, realized I had completely ignored one of your requests, and had to go change the way things played out! o_O But I think it's actually a stronger story in the end.

So thank you for such an inspiring prompt! It's not often I get an idea that coaxes a 12000 word one-shot out of me (though it's been known to happen), and I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it for you! And, because I don't have enough to do this summer, I've been working on a companion for this, from Scorpius' point of view. There were so many other scenes that I couldn't fit in but still wanted to write, and so that's what ended up forming! If you're interested, after the reveal and after it's finished, I'll send you a link!

Thanks again, so much! I had the best time in the world working on this!

To me, the idea of Scorpius as an Auror just seems so incredibly right somehow, and it's the perfect way to have Ron *have* to get to know him and stop operating on assumptions.

Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm so glad you liked it!
