The anonymous fest would be exactly how it's always been, with all gifts being anonymous until reveals at the end.
An onymous fest would be anonymous until the day of posting when the gift would be posted bearing the name of the artist/author. Participants would not be allowed to contact the recipient of their gift beforehand or say who they've received until the day their gift is posted.
On the upside: awards would encourage everyone to try their best, encourage interest in the gifts, and give people something to look forward to once the fest has finished.
On the downside: some people will not feel comfortable with the competitive aspect and I will need someone who can do banners for the awards.
If the majority choose this option than the fest will definitely be anonymous so as to making voting as fair as possible.
