God I love our law!!

Here's our law working at it's best! I had an incident in June where some mexican dude grabbed my ass, and I filed a police report about it, because I was PISSED. So anyways, it was about 2 months later and a detective calls me and she says "I'm getting together a photo lineup for you to look at. would you be abl to identify the guy who ( Read more... )

It's not the law; it's the law enforcement. Pony up some more money for our underfunded police and sheriff's departments. They're extremely short-staffed.

Of course it's the law enforcement. That's my point, but it ultimately affects the law. It isn't *my* problem that police officers are underpaid/understaffed. Have you noticed the distribution of money is quite fucked up in this country?? My point is, if you're gonna bother with law enforcement, do it correctly, or don't bother at all. Why not just leave it up to the citizens to begin with, since that's what ends up happening anyways?

It has nothing to do with money anonymous December 30 2004, 16:35:11 UTC
It has to do with the fact that there are a shit-load of crimes committed and they have to put priorities on them. Let's face it, while having your ass grabbed is traumatic to you (and I'm not trying to downplay it at all) in the big picture it is next to nothing. What would you rather the police focus on, rape, murder, arson, breaking and entering, or ass-grabbing? I find it amazing they went through the trouble of investigating it to this point. The fact that they have a photo line-up means they have a suspect, which implies investigation. Considering most petty theft reports and even auto theft investigations are dropped after a couple of months (active investigations only, not to say they wouldn't react if they had come across stolen property) I'd say you're ahead of the game. Stop feeling like a victim (or being angry) and get on with your life. Go through the line-up and see if you recognize him. Maybe you will, maybe you won't, but aside from a special ass-grabbing task-force, the police have done and will continue to ( ... )

Are you kidding me?? Of course it has to do with money. Everything and anything has to do with money. If we had the proper police force than EVERY crime would be given the importance necessary. That's not gonna happen, because the law isn't hollywood. We as a society find greater importance in shitty, worthless actors than the safety of our citizens. And hunny, *I'm* not feeling like a victim. I realize it's hard for you to tell my tone of this post, but it's nothing more than sarcastic. My anger is directed at the shitty law and all it stands for, not my own personal situation. That was used simply as an example. I have guys grab my ass all the time, and had he spoken english, there would've been hell to pay, so I had to do it the "civil" way ( ... )
