The Mac Mini is Dead; Long Live Mac Mini....

The Mac Mini dying seems to have become an internet meme this past year or two. This time it happened because certain stores in the UK have been told to stop ordering them and not to expect more of the current models. This of course has fueled speculation that either the Mac Mini is in imminent danger of being axed or refreshed.

Once I purchase my next Mac, whatever it may be, my current C2D mini is going to become my new media centre. I'm currently trying out an alpha test of Boxee, and testing out Plex as well.
XBMC was almost the perfect media centre on my old XBox, but the hardware wasn't fast enough to run HD stuff - and the mini is. It's nice to see two ports of XBMC with so much potential, though I'm currently favouring Boxee due to its mouse and keyboard support, as well as social networking features.
