PoorMan's Pennsic this weekend was a lot of fun. Of course I stayed up a bit too late, but I think most of us do at events. :) I taught a class on basic fingerloop braiding for the 2nd time. Finger braiding is a good thing to learn, and as you have noted, easy to teach.

There are complicated patterns, none of which have stuck in this nooodle.

They were most impressed when I mentioned there were braids that could be done with THREE people (6 hands). Hehehe. It is very easy to teach the basics, and I made sure to mention that the braids can get a lot more complex. I have my class notes onmy web page.
