It's Not Even Wednesday?

Apparently this is going to be a long week. I'm thinking I need to come up with some discussion topics to speed it up. In the meantime:

trekreversebang has posted its Masterlist! Stories of at least 6,000 words, a range of pairings and ratings, and most of them include art!

shetiger has put me in a very JJ/Hotch mood of late, mainly with Way Back Into Love.
Cut for Criminal Minds casting spoiler...that you probably all know )

criminal minds, tv

Persons Unknown is excellent, though Lola Glaudini actually doesn't have a big role in it. She plays the editor of this tabloid-esque newspaper and one of her reporters picks up the missing-people story (particularly because one of them, Janet, leaves behind a young daughter). She has some cool scenes, but she's not in a lot of the show.

I started watching it for her, but the group of missing people themselves are actually more interesting. I love Alan Ruck's character, I actually like the main two leads (which is surprising), and I love Sergeant McNair and his quirky friendship with Moira. And Moira's quirky friendship/therapy sessions with spoiled-brat Tori.

I'm kind of a fan of quirky so I might check this out, even with the minimal Lola. Thanks for the rec! (Also, I ♥ your icon.)

I <3 you. :)

Ed Bernero writes her exit episode himself and stands by the practice of not killing off exiting characters. I am crossing my fingers so hard for this. Because I still don't know if I'm going to be watching, but it will make it so much easier on my heart if I know she's still out there, somewhere. (Yeah, I know they're not real people, lalalala.)

I was actually considering checking out Persons Unknown because Alan Ruck is in it, who I find adorable, but I've been having this little obsession issue with a certain show lately. ;) It'll probably be cancelled before I get around to watching it. (Oops, how did that cynicism slip in there?)

I just wasted most of the morning uploading a batch of Criminal Minds stories to AO3. (Note to self: copy-paste rather than import. Then you don't have to worry about your perfectionistic tendencies attacking the html.) And then I was distracted by Kris and his band being interviewed by my favorite interviewer. Now I might actually accomplish something.

See, now I am torn because after I wrote this, I saw libitina's post about how broken and repressed everyone will be if they're tragically missing JJ and suspicious of the new person and having grief and angst all over the place and season 6 could be all about how they can't get along without JJ, and that seemed interesting. But I think when it comes down to it, I'm still voting for her to go off to live her life and be available to guest-star (what, I can hope!) and have non-AU fanfic written about her.

Dude, I feel you. When I was around 13, almost everything I watched got cancelled (Mann and Machine, The Hat Squad, Human Target - the Rick Springfield Version, L.A. Law, MacGyver, etc.) so I started watching Star Tek and Hawaii 5-0 because they had already been wrapped. I think I'm going to try Persons Unknown anyway, though. Want to watch it with me?

I would never call more CM fic on AO3 a waste of time. Now I'm going to go watch you write. :D

how broken and repressed everyone will be if they're tragically missing JJ and suspicious of the new person and having grief and angst See, I would maybe watch that. But do you really think they'll go there? I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility, especially if Ed is pissed off, but it also sounds too good to be true for me.

When I was around 13, almost everything I watched got cancelled Heh. It's just recently that I've started to get used to shows that don't get cancelled. Also, I loved Mann and Machine. :)

Want to watch it with me? Yeah, we can do that. Also, I am going to gently remind you of the existence of Justified, and then let it go. ;)

(Edited because I fucked up my html. *facepalm*)

I tried to watch the pilot of The Good Guys, and I was not impressed. It's by the creator of Burn Notice, which I love with a deep and abiding passion, but The Good Guys didn't grab me at all. The first warning was when they opened with a People in Peril scene then flashed "xxx hours earlier" -- I've grown very tired of that type of narrative trickery unless it serves a real purpose. As far as I could tell, the only purpose was to sow confusion. The characters didn't impress me, and I never sought it out again.

Also, jfc: way to make me even LESS interested in the CM spinoff. Ugh ugh ugh. I really do not like her. At first I thought she was joining CM: the original, and made an instant decision that I'd stop watching.

Dude, I feel bad for whoever does wind up in the original - that character is going to be the target of so much hostility. I don't mind Janeane Garafalo, but the spinoff is not selling me at all. *sigh*

Bah. I blame the pornstache. It seems like it should be a great show, between the cast and the creator. It's disappointing that the pilot wasn't good. I haven't heard anything about it which means people aren't all, "OMG, MUST WATCH!" about it, usually. I'll probably procrastinate a little more and see if it gets cancelled or if people start getting excited about it before I decide to pursue it or not.

Similarly, anyone been watching The Good Guys?

Ooh, ooh, ooh! Me, me, me!

I like it. It's not Leverage-awesome, but it's a fun watch and I look forward to it every Monday.

Cool! I'll keep this in mind. Definitely sounds like it improved since the pilot. Thanks!

So, The Good Guys. It's...interesting. I don't think it signposted very well in the pilot what it's supposed to be, which is kind of a goofy cop show, rather than a serious one. It's ridiculous, and it's supposed to be ridiculous, but you don't really get that clearly communicated til, like, the last ten minutes of the show. Which, no. I am hoping it will get a little more even as it goes on - pilots often aren't great about that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because it's set in/films in Dallas (WOOOOOOO) and very often close to Baby!Sister's work. :)

I watched the pilot, but forgot to set the DVR for it, so God only knows how many eps I've missed, ha.

Haha, I have that problem all the time. I'm not DVRing at the moment but I screwed up the Tivo for Castle, the Middleman, all kinds of things that I only picked up later...or not at all. I'm a fan of goofy cop shows. I might wait and see if people start watching it or if it gets canceled but that's exciting that your Baby!Sister is close by!
