1. Jeannie has no intention of becoming a vegetarian. Or getting married. Or having kids. Definitely not having kids. She knows her mother resented having her and that's not what she wants for her own life. Funny how things don't really turn out the way she thinks they should.

2. Jeannie doesn't exactly blame Rodney for wanting to go to a college as far as possible from home, but she's really very angry with him for leaving her alone with their parents. She's certainly not worried that they'll hurt her or each other - it's not that kind of fighting - but it's very lonely in the house without someone to huddle with.

3. John ends up being the one to teach Jeannie to drive. Her parents won't do it and Rodney panics every time she accelerates, which really isn't helping her own nerves. So John does it in the summer between his academy graduation and his first assignment. Jeannie thinks of him every time she sits behind the wheel of the car, even in the years when she and Rodney aren't speaking.

Would it be cheating if I asked about John Cooper in Brisance? (I know he's not _actually_ in the story.) Ben works, too.

Oh, thank goodness! I have not watched any of season 2 because I was all, "I must hoard it in case there is no more! And dole it out slowly! And maybe preface it with a rewatch of season 1!" Basket case? Me?

I need to rewatch it with more than half a heart this time around. I was all "eh, don't get too into it, you'll just have your dreams crushed" the first time. \o/

Sheppard in Half a League Onward. I always loved (and was intrigued by) that Sheppard.

1. John's first shot went right into the Wraith queen's spine, right under her skull. She screamed in a way that would haunt John's nightmares and spasmed, and then the unnatural aging Sumner experienced completely reversed. They agreed, later, that they really didn't know what happened and maybe it had been like those shadows Teyla had spoken of. So they didn't say anything. John asked casually around the Athosian village later but when no one seemed to recognize what he'd seen, he stopped asking
