I'm primarily on DW these days and have removed anyone who seems to be consistently crossposting from my default view on LJ. (sometimes that backfired as a couple of people xposted everything for a while and then mysteriously stopped without posting about it, so they just vanished from my perspective until by accident I noticed they were still posting to LJ)
DW has a lot of nice features and the xposting is very convenient. So most of my LJ reading these days are communities, like the most recent view of my flist shows 25 posts and only four not community posts.
Thanks, that is useful! I do like a lot of the DW features, but I'm so used to having LJ up in the tab next to my email, it's hard to "unstick." Plus, yeah, I feel like most of the communities have stayed on LJ. It might be an incorrect perception but I think I subscribed to sga_flashfic and never get any posts from there - or maybe I'm missing them somehow?
No, I don't think you missed anything. I think because you are not allowed to xpost and can only post to either the LJ or the DW comm (because of this feed arrangement the mods set up), and the DW comm has much fewer member than the LJ comm, very few people choose to post on the DW version. Also the sga_flashfic seems a bit less active and regular than it used to be even on LJ.
I'm on DW as a mirror, because everyone who actually interacts with me is still on LJ.
You might want to look at a foam pad instead of a feather bed, if you want support. IMHO, feather beds/quilted toppers do just sink into the hollow of a older mattress.
I did think about splitting my interests, but it would make more sense to move my personal stuff to DW, and that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, considering it's designed to be the fannish refuge. I don't mind reading two lists at home, but I'd rather stay one place if I'm checking at work.
Oooh. I keep making cow eyes at the memory foam toppers but it's not like they let you take it for a test drive, really, so I've been reluctant. How deep is yours?

Thanks for the thought on the foam pad! It sounds like that's a common thing with the feather beds.
