TV Shows...and food

Jan 06, 2007 16:29

I made a list of the tv shows I watch, even if only sometimes or occasionally or in some alternate universe. (You'll note that three of them share a timeslot and I sadly lack TiVo.) I'm interested to know what my flist watches as well. Usually I comment on them as I am moved/have time to do so and that's not likely to change but I'm curious as ( Read more... )

sga, studio 60, sg-1, veronica mars, csi:ny, criminal minds, supernatural, the unit, house, tv, friday night lights

I know that Sandra Lee on Food TV had a blue cheese dip with similar ingredients. If you check out foodtv.com and search for her recipes you might find it. Sorry I don't have any good dip recipes of my own.

Awesome! I found a recipe for blue cheese mayonnaise and one for a blue cheese/cream cheese combo rolled in dates. I think I might sort of combine the two recipes and skip the dates and see how that works.

Thank you! I think I'm obsessed with the food tv site now. Hm, what else can I make....

Pardon as I drool on your recipe. OMG, that is so fantastic. Definitely what I'm going for. Thank you!

Joined your flist mainly b/c of our shared Stargate love. Notice you watch SPN as well. It just came on air around here, and I finally saw what the buzz was all about. Unfortunately, what with Heroes, BSG and possibly Rome resuming later in Jan, I too have no idea how to fit in all this TV!

I have the same problem! The Unit, House, and Veronica Mars are all on at the same time and I can only watch one at a time. So I usually watch Veronica Mars and catch the other two on reruns later on. Needless to say, I've seen one episode each of House and The Unit this season. :)

I should admit that I'm vastly behind on SPN, SG-1, and SGA (like, this whole season), and the others I tape & watch in fits & starts, so I'm not always current. But I'm always happy to squee and discuss and cheer on writing. :)

*grin* Awesome. SGA had a shaky start this season (I was actually enjoying SG-1 more) but the Canadian airings have been awesome. House, VM, and The Unit are all on at the same time so I've only seen one episode each of House and The Unit this season. Studio 60 is hit or miss (I can't bring myself to care as much about skit television as I did about national politics) but Friday Night Lights is my new best thing ever. ;)

I realize, looking at your list, I just don't watch much tv. Daily Show and Colbert report, yes. A couple of toons from the Cartoon network, and then the sci fi channel. *le sigh* Though Supernatural is on the netflix queue b/c from what I can tell, pple who like similar shows as me, like it. I've seen only season 1 of house; I think season 2 is on the queue.

Also, blue cheese recipe: not so much for a dip or sauce, but, equally delicious. (This is presuming you're talking about the cheese and not the dressing.) Anyway, take polenta, and mound it into small round balls. Take a glob of blue cheese and place in center, depressing it. Bake for I think 20 minutes. Garnish w/half a cherry tomato. It's delish.

Note that with the exception of SG-1, all those shows are 3 seasons old or less. :) Four years ago, I got cable purely for West Wing and Smallville. A year later, they both kind of sucked, and I wasn't watching anything. And then everyone said, "Oh, check out this show...."

I'm hit and miss on Studio 60, and only my Sorkin love is keeping me in that at all. VM, House, and The Unit are all on at the same time so I only get one of those a week. (Maybe I'll catch up on DVD, maybe reruns...maybe not at all.) I saw the entire first season of Supernatural on DVD so that's a new shiny. :)

Last semester I only had Torts on Thursday mornings so the Wednesday night shows were fine but this semester I have three classes on Thursdays so I'm probably going to have to tape FNL, Criminal Minds, and CSI:NY to watch over the weekend.

...possibly I watch way too much television. Whew.

Also, thank you for the blue cheese recipe! I will grab some polenta the next time I go to the grocery store and try it out. It sounds fabulous!
