I really like how the stuff with Smash is slowly working it's way up. And I loved the talk between him and his sister and him and his mom. Although, I totally felt the pacing was weird because the episode was "HEY! Let's have a Smash centric episode!" and then jammed everything else in there too.
I sort of love to hate Bud Garrity because he's such an ass. He's just one of those characters but I loved him talking to Lyla mostly because you sort of always got this underlying sense that he really, really, really wanted a boy instead of a girl.
Okay. I did not get the Members Only jacket. Is it a small town thing? Is it like a school jacket? Cool kids? Obviously not something exclusive-exclusive since he got it at a thrift store, right? *confuzzled

You know, I think I was on about my third episode before I realized Bud was Lyla's father. I need to go back and watch on nbc.com from the beginning but yeah, it was kind of a surprise. :) And I agree that he wanted a boy. And that he thinks girls are these small mysterious things that just aren't the same. What's up with his Rather Young wife?
Yeah, the jacket thing totally confused me.
I understand why there's not more football - they're trying not to scare off their, "But I don't like sports," demographic but um. I like football. I went to all my high school grades. In many ways, Dillon is my high school and I'm confused at the only-occasional football thing. But I can see why there's not more.
I need to go and watch this. I was out shopping for truffle supplies and then I was busy being traumatized by the comments on the revision from the Slovenian Demon. I knew the reception of the short revision was TOO GOOD to be true. Sigh.
Here via control_freak80, who is always telling me how fabulous you are...from one law schooler to another, hooray for finishing contracts! That class was a personal hell to me last year (but then I took torts, and hell was redefined!). The awesome thing is that you'll find you never appreciated Christmas vacation as much as you do now...
Aw, thank you! :) I finally figured out what Contracts was all about about two days before the test. Maybe next semester will be better. :P (Also, Contracts is a two-semester class, so I get it again!) We had Torts at the same time, so that final is coming up next week. Torts was my favorite class this semester so maybe it won't be horrible? I hope?
I had a dreadful torts teacher, but I think it would have been fun otherwise...we took administrative law the first year, which was my favorite class as a 1L.
Oy. Why two semesters? I mean, I know schools do that with a lot of classes (civ pro is another one that's often two semesters), but just...WHY?
I lucked out - my torts prof is fantastic, but they took his class from 2 3-credit classes to 1 4-credit class and so he's trying to shove a few extra credits worth into what we're doing.
Civ Pro isn't split, and I guess they wanted to make sure we got Contracts along with Torts and Property for, I don't know, the backbone of Western Civilization.
