Supernatural 2x04: Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things

Do casting spoilers have to inside the cut? We'll be safe and do it. There are big plotline/end of episode spoilers and speculation, too, so don't be misled by my idle musings on that crazy girl.

Sam's hair continues to make me weep. )

That's...really weird, because I was sure the roommate was Summer Glau at first.

I had heard nothing about her being on the show, and I had the same reaction. Then I convinced myself I was seeing things.

So which one was she?

She was supposed to be the zombie girl. And if you close your eyes when she says certain things (like, "you were going to leave me, weren't you?) it totally sounds like River. But her face...I feel awful saying that her face just didn't look right, but I just totally didn't recognize her. I'm glad everyone else is as confused as me.

Huh. I totally would have picked the roommate. Weird.

I was seriously dying when Sam was all emo "Let's hug and cry! Or you can hit me again!" and he was met with Dean's "suck it up and shut up, Sammy!" method of dealing. But then I felt bad for mocking at the end when Dean did cry.

I don't know about Summer Glau, but I DO know that the guy who brought Angela back from the dead was played by Lauren's creepy student teacher boyfriend on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

How was Guy Who Sits Next To You?

Sam owns his emo. You gotta love a man who carries his emo around in a little straw basket like Sam does. And Dean, Dean just despairs for Sam. But then he shed his perfect little tear and I was all, "Dean! You no longer have a leg to stand on!" (See, I feel in lust with Dean when he told Sam to shut his cakehole in the first episode, but it was turned instantly to blinding love when I realized that Dean was the kind of jerk who will never win and will always end up covered in mud.) And then I felt bad for Dean because he didn't stop at one perfect little tear and he kind of looked like maybe he was in danger of blubbering ( ... )

I hate when you go and make WB dramas sound like real shows...

(it's the 9th inning of a tied game, I hate the serial, and yes, I'm reading summaries of shows I don't watch)

If I had related the conversation about why they didn't know how to kill a zombie because there was too much conflicting lore instead of a dearth of resources, you wouldn't be saying that. :)

If I'd waited another few minutes for the Mets to blow the series, then I wouldn't have said it, either.

*will be off moping in the corner, now reduced to just hating the serial*

re their mom.

Well-- the Demon can take over people right? *koff*

You think the Demon took her over and...impreganated herself?

*looks at you*

Too much coffee?

I meant John. He's a demon! I'm fairly sure he could magic his demon sperm anywhere he wants. *koff*

Yeah, well, I said that.

"...probably did so by possessing the women's husbands...".

OR, it could have happened in a less obvious way since not all the kids' fathers drank as much as John and might've noticed missing some time (or maybe not, maybe the Demon picked women with drunken husbands.) Or, maybe the kids are blessed by something else instead of cursed, and the Demon is trying to subjugate the offspring by killing their mothers.

It turned Anakin Skywalker bad, you know.

I didn't think either of the two girls was Summer Glau. Unless I see some clear caps, I'll remain unconvinced.

From what I'm hearing now, it's definite that neither of them were Summer Glau. I don't have a copy of the episode but some people who taped it can confirm that she isn't credited.

I'm kind of glad it wasn't her - as adorable as she is, it's starting to throw me out of shows when the guest star is so strongly identified with a single role they played in the past.
