Is this thing on?

Oh, LJ, I have missed you. I haven't exactly looked at my friendslist since Thursday night so if something life-changing happened to anyone, I missed it. Also, if you commented over the weekend, I'll be sifting through my email to find those in a bit ( Read more... )

If you come visit, you can share my Fun Dip. You're always welcome at my house. :) I'll find a place for you, no matter what.

Also, I've been metaing about your boyfriend. This is what I was saying to control_freak80 earlier tonight:

I came up with his whole history in my head the other day - how he was going to be an engineer so he could design cars and then he met an Air Force recruiter who said, "Why stop at cars when you could design planes?" So he joined the Air Force and decided to fly first and then got wrapped up in special ops and was a POW for three days so he could break some other guys out and tried to resign his commission after that, but they gave him a medal and flew his wife and son out to give it to him and wow, yeah, I just have this whole THING.

Dude, I need a Colonel Sheppard icon.

My boyfriend is SO AWESOME. My fanfic-father-of-an-AU-version-of-a-tv-character is the best boyfriend ever.

Are you still se on that one guy for Sheppard?

Your boyfriend is totally awesome. And I haven't even gotten to the part where he's in this little hotel room in Germany, making love to his wife while their three-year-old son is sleeping in the other room and he's trying to be quiet so he's muffling his gasps in the skin of her neck and shoulder and she's holding him and she totally gets him through that week and then his next assignment is a quiet, safe one and he says he's going to quit after that, but she just kisses him on the temple and tells him to take it day by day and he does and when it's time to go to the next place, they just do, with no more to-do.

So yeah, I still like that one guy but I'm not married to the idea, you know? So if you find someone who fits better? Just holler and I'll take a look.

Okay, I'm done. You have officially killed me with that bit of knowledge. Dead.

I was thinking (briefly) of the dad from Supernatural, but then he showed up on Grey's Anatomy and lost his appeal for me. (He was that guy Izzie was with in the finale.)

*revives you*

Okay, so I saw one episode of Grey's Anatomy with that guy and the one Supernatural episode I saw didn't have him, so I googled his image and...dude, he's forty and they're having him play Jenson Ackles' father? Jenson Ackles is my age. But yeah, no one's counting. So yeah, there are pics where he's kinda hot and pictures where...not at all. I think in my head he looked a little like John Creighton's father in Farscape, but now that I think about it, that's way too old. Colonel Sheppard is probably 42-45. So the guy from Highlander is too old right now, too.

Yeah, you don't even want to know about the bit where he finds out his wife is dying.

I DO want to know. I'm having a spectacularly crappy day and I can't think of anything better than having a good cry while reading about my man and his dying wife.

So?

Randomly:

Gary Ross was speaking on the AFI Fifty Years, Fifty Cheers special, and if he shaved the beard...he's not an actor but he'd work.
