which is more important, friends, or your partner? it always seems like you can only have one or the other. everyone i know in a relationship is almost completely unavailable. once people get in a relationship, the friends just always seem to go by the wayside. this is not only expected, its practically viewed as natural. for christ's sakes, ( Read more... )

yeah, your not tooooooooo bad :)

but still, i always feel like i am one of the lowest people on the totem pole, as far as importance in people's lives. you have mark, you are the highest person on the totem pole for him. (at least i hope so.)

i guess i am just a little lonely. i'm tired of being single.

What it is Ken, is that the chances of your friends being there in the event you lose your partner are greater than those of your partner being there in the event that you lose all your friends. The reason for this is simple: friendships have usually had a large amount of time to grow and become strong, so "partner relationships" require more time and effort to play catch up, else they should break down. Also, where one can gain and have many friends at a time, partnership is usually a more exclusive deal, which requires more time to be spent with the individual in a more one-on-one environment ( ... )
