D consistently kept calling out (even in bad mood mode) "amma", "emma", "ma" for several hours today! Of course, she doesn't know that in Telugu (our mother tongue) it means mom. So, she probably didn't understand what all my excitement was about. yay!

You know, in Swedish (Jens's first language), 'amma' (as a verb) means 'to nurse, to breastfeed', and 'mamma' means 'mom'. :D And in old(ish) Finnish, the word for a mother is 'emo'. (Nowadays it's only used for animals, and humans have 'äiti'.) I find it awfully interesting to see how most languages in the world have chosen that kind of words - the first set of sounds that a child produces like that - to mean the baby's main caretaker. :)
