Miss Martha Jones was the one thing he hadn't planned on, but he found himself enjoying their time together more every time he saw her. It was the one distraction he allowed himself.
Despite the delay, he was out of the car and knocking on Martha's door right at seven, exactly as he'd told her earlier that afternoon. He straightened his tie as he waited for the door to open. The suit was probably just a little too nice for the resturaunts he had in mind, but he hadn't had time to stop by his flat. Besides, he likes suits -- they give an image that fills well with the one he projects. And a beautiful woman on his arm doesn't hurt that image, either.

7 o'clock exactly. Right on time. As always.
She's still smiling as she grabs her purse and coat, and then opens the door at exactly 7:01. The sight of him sends the current from her head straight down to her toes and she smiles brightly, looking up at him and leaning against the doorframe.
"Are you ever late?"

"Not usually, no."
He leans in to kiss her cheek and, looking down at her, he seems to brighten more as he straightens up. "You look absolutely beautiful. As always. Shall we go?""

Martha laughs, smiling warmly at the kiss against her cheek and the compliment that follows. There's that electric current, again, followed by something much warmer, softer.
"You're such a gentleman," she says, in an awed, appreciative way before turning to lock her door and slipping her arm around his. Chivalry is never dead with him. She enjoys that very much. "Thank you. You look very handsome, yourself. Love the suit. I'm not under dressed, am I?"
