Clarifying the Outsiders

When I was talking about the Outsiders, I was talking about an entirely different issue than what most of you guys responded with. That's OK, because both of them are really good points. But I do want to be clear about what I was trying to say ( Read more... )

Jack had comments on cuddly that have been deemed completely non-helpful. We figure you will know what they are, or some varient on what they would have been. heh.
hmmmm.... sounds like the 'fuzzy bunny' types would just love Sha'de or Carn....
and we agree that 'those not like us' is rather vague and on some levels not sure how precisely 'like us' it would be possbile to get gathered for a rite.... ah well.....

That's something I'm noticing as a pattern- that when the outdwellers are referred to as "those not like us" & similarly vague ways, it's more likely that those of us who normally feel like outsiders to begin with can feel like it's directed at us. And I'm noticing that it's especially true of those of us with "unfortunate" pasts.

*nods soft* when the sense of belonging to a group is tetchy at best and likely to evaporate at a moments notice it doesn't take much for the vague and unclear to be perceieved along such lines..... which can't do much to help the energies of the rite - even if the bump they cause might not be noticed by others in it if they aren't paying attention to such things....

The only form in which I have ever seen anything bad happen because a circle was breached, was over on the way far "do NOT tinker here if you don't have all six cans AND the plastic thingy to hold them together" end of the left-hand path. No animals or kids or anything like that (criminal and just plain mentally ill), just exercising specifically identified inner-demons -- the FAR left.

I seem to recall a rit at S's house where a preggers girl fell out in the middle of casting because she didn't bother to tell the hp/hps or even S. that she was preggers. Things like "how long am I asking this big group of people to stand stuffed into an unventilated room? Does anyone have a medical issue that would necessitate a chair or better ventilation?" become more important in such situations.

Sure, playing with the "really big" [read: volatile] stuff can do bad things to one's mind if they aren't adequately prepared, but playing with volatile chemicals can do bad things to one's skin if they aren't adequately prepared just the same...
