I loved that line.

It was good to hear that she was never just a passenger, meaning she was always more. Always special.

Heh. I am of the firm opinion that RTD-the-public-persona and RTD-the-show-runner are two completely separate people. I personally choose not to pay any attention to what the public persona says, because he's been known to lie through his teeth to get the publicity he wants for his show. And I think the show runner forgot to brief DT on what he was going to say in public until after the show was taped.
