The Ood may have plans for him, plans that would lead to his death given time, but he was determined to escape them for as long as possible. Some might call it running away, he would say it was using his time wisely. After all, if it was limited, he had to make the most of it ( Read more... )

The truth was, occasionally, when things were quiet... there wasn't much to do at a palace. It's not that state matters ever ended -- there was always something to sign, but you could find a peace in their repetition. At one with her state, ha, what kind of philosopher was she?

So she wondered too, book in hand, her ladies out of sight for once. Mind a million miles away, perhaps she could go riding? A hunt might be nice. Exciting, to break this endless lull.

-- Or the strangest dressed man she had ever beheld could walk into her palace? What on earth. How though should probably be the more important question. How'd he get it? There was a chill then, what if it was another assassin?

"You there! Sir! Declare yourself to me!" That fear made her tone sharp, commanding.

His words confused her, completely. That was no how she expected to be treated at all. She just stared at him, a stern look to hide it.

"Did you just? And what time would that be?" Mocking, a little. Because she greatly disliked being confused, or people speaking double words around her -- she got that enough from her advisors already. "Just in time to get arrested for trespassing on royal property?"

"Oh you're not going to do that Elizabeth... it is Elizabeth, isn't it? Not Liz, or Lizzie? I don't mind either way," he said, grinning at her, sticking his hands in his pockets. "You don't even know who I am! I'm far too interesting to do that."
