My suggestion is don't. That's exactly why I got a credit card. And I've probably spent $1000 on it. But I owe $5000 because of late fees and interest and all kinds of stupidity. because I was low on money I didn't have the money to pay them back at the right time.

Use your emergency money before you get a credit card. Everybody says it's smart and responsible and blah blah blah to have a credit card but it's not. and it's not worth it.

i wish I hadn't thought in the way that you are thinking right now ever. Then I wouldn't have any difficulties with money at all.

it sucks.

lexi,
DON"T!! I agree with jay la. Don't get one until you'fe in a position to pay it off. I have two and I'm finally in a position where I can pay one off. Moreover, I honestly am concerned about leaving financial information on livejournal. If you're having trouble with money matters, get help now, don't make the mistakes Jay la, I, and so many others have made. If you get that card, lock it up, cut it up, give it to your parents so you'll have to prove to them that you can pay down what you need it for!!!

I already applied for one. I don't think it will be too bad if I use it scarcely and pay it off right away.

"Learn from the mistakes other have made. Life is too short to make them all yourself" I forget who said this but it applies here. I just hope you know what you are getting into.
