Even if it was largely handwavy Ezra was having a great week of meeting some new people around the island and then getting better acquainted with them. He remembered this from last year, too, and he appreciated it for what it was: a brief moment in time when other people seemed to exist in a world that was a little closer to his. Lucille had debated with herself whether this was a good idea, considering... many things. But as the week went on, she had grown increasingly frustrated, and as she had an excuse -- Ezra had sent her flowers -- she felt she could stop by his room.

She had rehearsed this visit in her head beforehand.

"Good afternoon," she said, stopping on the threshold of the open door, peering into the room.

Lucille smiled and was momentarily distracted by looking at him, because it seemed like he was even more handsome than she remembered. Taking a deep breath, she took a step into the room. "I came to thank you for the flowers." It was a good place to start, at least. "It was very thoughtful."
