by Jeffrey Eugenides (the guy who also wrote the book The Virgin Suicides) and i love it. it was the first book in a long time that i've read that i couldn't stop reading for hours at a time.

the t.a. whose discussion section i'm in told him that flatley said you have to be crazy to do a phd in english.

i went into his office last week during office hours... i love all of the books from wall to wall though and the modernist artsy yellow chairs. he offered me coffee covered hazelnuts "from barcelona." he's too pomo for me but there's something strangely appealing about him.!
