I rather liked Sword of the Stranger because it was so over the top. Made it a bit different than other samurai-esque films. And of course, it was nicely animated as you said. :D
hehe, most samurai movies are like that, i noticed. it's where Quentin Tarantino got his inspiration from anyway with his crazy bloodbaths lol. I dunno, i'd just like something to take a pause from all its frenetic energy and think about what it's doing (lol something like reflecting i guess). this movie did that late and i guess i was hoping for more of those quiet times/reflections.
still, that's that, and i still liked it a lot. think i'll be buying the original DVD of this once it comes out. it had such a bittersweet ending, no? tch.
oh, btw. i think your icon made a uh... tragic appearance. his voice is so distinct nowadays tho i admit i didn't spot him in his first bunch of lines XD;
hehe, aww, but you knew it was coming. it's almost like the nature of most samurai films. i think it was right leaving it that way cos that way it'd leave such a big impact on you... it really left a big one to me......
