When I travelled in the b-low area, I had excellent luck with verizon. By excellent I mean I only lost my signal when I was in the basment of a ub dorm

do they charge you an arm and a leg for a plan?

They charge a bit more, but they have better coverage in the ny area. T-mobile has a cheaper plan but they have crappier coverage in rural areas. I pay about 50 dollars a month with taxes and all that noise for 400 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends along with a 1000 mobile to mobile minutes meaning if I call someone with a verizon phone during the day time it comes off my 1k minutes instead of my anytime minutes.

I have Cingular...It has its ups and downs, but I have to admit Verizon is better. They have a the highest cellular signal bought out...I get no service in certain places where verizon does. That made me MAD. I will switch next year
