A REAL TAG TOMORROW I PROMISE animu_nerd November 17 2011, 11:43:33 UTC
Meanwhile Otacon was too busy trying to get it on with Mei Ling. It's a helicopter thing, you see.

Meanwhile, in the air... 140_96 November 17 2011, 23:58:03 UTC
"Miss EVA, Raiden, this is Mei Ling."

She adjusted her headset and adjusted the throttle with her other so that they would stay relatively within broadcast range but still be out of enemy sight.

"The train is about 5 minutes from your current position. Aim to land for the second carriage and make your way to the middle where AL should be transported. Good luck."

It wasn't hard to track the train's progress despite the precautions that they took in transporting the AI. It was still detectable by the helicopter's thermal sensors. Thankfully the railroad network didn't go any deeper otherwise they would lose coverage. But EVA and Raiden had Mei Ling and Otacon, the best people for this job so what could go wrong?

Otacon pushed up his glasses, both working on keeping the helicopter up in the air, making sure that the aircraft would not be detected by the air-force and remained invisible to their radars, while keeping his communication system online. Thankfully the vehicle was currently on autopilot as he looked over to his other screens, watching the pair below thanks to the magic of nanomachines.

"Mei Ling and I will be providing you with as much backup as we can," he told them. "I've also got MK-II following you," he explained, as the tiny creature stood the both of them, waving.

"Hello!" it offered cheerfully. Unlike the one that a future Otacon would have used, this MK-II was powered by a special ship the previous Otacon had developed, giving it speech and a personality. It's tiny, robotic voice seemed pleased to be doing this. "I'll will be assisting you in opening doors or other devices that might need my skills."

He still kinda freaked Otacon out, but he had to admit having a tiny robot was just like his anime pretty neat...

Just as EVA moved to take another step, Raiden warned her that they were finally at the bottom of the ladder. When the two of them stopped, the echos inside the stairwell were replaced only with the low rumbling of the train. EVA exhaled loudly, as if she had been holding her breath the entire way down. Maybe she had been ( ... )

The little robot was surprisingly dexterous, and appreciated. It was almost like having Otacon right there... when he wasn't there over the codec, of course. With Mei Ling and EVA here, it really was the best team they could ask for... without the Legendary Snake around. The ladder vibrated more, shaking intensely as the train roared closer. It was almost time ( ... )
