PREPARATIONS / ARRIVALS

Phoenix had just arrived at Smash Academy a couple days ago. However, as luck would have it, he saw a flier for a school-wide potluck. Maybe this would help him meet some people and get out of his room. He still wasn't feeling perfectly happy, to be honest, and was tremendously upset over the recent loss of his badge.

However, the only thing now to do was to move forward. He hoped this potluck would really help snap him out of his funk, so he arrived at the time specified with a hastily-made plate of sandwiches. That should help.

He awkwardly wandered around the area until he found the food table. Well, the sandwiches go here, he supposed.

Voile really was most grateful to Knuckles. If it hadn't been for the echidna they would have been without one. And honestly, she wasn't good at holding tables. Especially when her hands were full. She'd been trying to make the table as tidy as she could with her tarts when she saw Phoenix.

Then she smiled brightly, "Oh! These look good." She leaned over to the platter to get a better look. "What kind of sandwiches are these?" They smelled good.

And then Voile recalled that she forgot to eat.

Phoenix was not the best cook. With his formerly busy schedule, he hardly found time to cook. Then, after losing his badge, he never found the motivation to cook. He had lived off "grape juice" and take-out.

However, it was time to turn over a new leaf.

When the young woman asked about the sandwiches, he was a bit surprised.

"Ah! I didn't see you there!" he said, sheepishly scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "These are... peanut-butter and jelly." Well, they were universally acceptable sandwiches, at least. Carbon ate them every day for lunch from pre-school through senior year of high school.

Cyrus was not there for the birthday party. He didn't know in advance that that was what it was, and he didn't particularly care once he found out.

But he was there to socialize, and that's exactly what he intended to do.
