Smash Fundamentals Lecture #2 - Basic Attacks

Hello class, beep! Today's lecture is about basic attacks. Last week, we handled the basic jab, which is a fast, light attack. A basic attack hits with more force, beep. They are not primary knockout moves in a Smash match, however if you hit hard enough you may get surprising results

Why yes this is, beep! Come on in! We were demonstrating basic attacks for today yes. Care to demonstrate for me?

U-um...sure! *takes out staff and approches Bolsa de Arena*

*strikes it across the face, then kicks it upward, Bolsa de Arena lands on his back* Is that alright?

Very nice! That use of your staff will give a perfect amount of range, beep.

*gets a running start, and shoves Bolsa de Arena, charging hands with magic as he does* Ooh. Maybe that was too strong... Ah well, trial and error. *walks next to Bolsa de Arena, waves hand in a pretty magic arc above her head so it hits, then kneels down onto the ground and kicks him as he lands* ...like that?

Nice use of up and down attacking, beep! That first attack you used is a 'dash attack' which I will cover in Wednesday's class. Don't feel bad, think of yourself as a bit ahead!

Nice forward slash! Swords seem to be a popular weapon around here, beep. Would you like to demonstrate a downward attack for me?

This doesn't seem so bad! *waits for the others to have their go at Bolsa de Arena before approaching him, twisting on the ball of his foot and kicking him square in the face with a 'hu!'*

Care to demonstrate an upward attack for me?

Sure thing, sir! *steps over to Bolsa de Arena and forcefully thrusts upwards with his palms, knocking him into the air thanks to Smash Bros. logic. quickly side-steps to avoid being crushed as the sandbag comes back down* Whoa. How was that?

Good use of your hands, beep! It seems like you have a variety of tools at your disposal, I think you should keep those in mind for later lectures.
