Arceus worked in strange ways. It had been a long time since she'd left that coat with Lucas, with a note pointing out a time and location. It had almost faded from his memory before the unexpected snowfall brought it back to mind. He still had no idea why, but just as she'd asked, he'd headed outside, coat folded neatly over one arm ( ... )

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor a freak snowstorm could keep Flint from doing his job. He didn't particularly care for the stuff, but Boney sure did, and he was galloping enthusiastically through the snow drifts as Flint trudged behind him, lugging a snow shovel. He was hardly paying attention to the dog until Boney's ears suddenly perked up and he took off running in a different direction.

"Boney!" Flint called out. "Hey! Stay where I can see you!"

Boney had other plans, and ignored Flint in favor of whatever he was chasing. Oh, look, there's Lucas. That wasn't who he was after. Nevertheless, he barked excitedly as he dashed right by him. Hi Lucas bye Lucas.

She took few steps in the snow, rubbing her arms to warm up herself a little and calling her sons's names again before giving up: however she ended up in such a place no one was apparently around and- wait, that voice!

"Flint?"

Hinawa had no doubts, it was his husband's voice and, even if she wasn't expecting to find him so far from the village, it automatically calmed her as nothing else would be able to do. She shivered, turning just to see Boney running forward and... and...

"Lucas?"

Wait... despite being sure to be in front of her, she'd never mistook someone else for her beloved sons, he was... different. And not only taller and certainly older than how he was ten minutes before, at least for her point of view, it was something she couldn't explain.

Claus couldn't recall the number of times someone asked him if the whole "twin telepathy" thing was true. He always had the same answer: it was hard to tell when both of the twins in question were psychic. So, call it whatever you wanted. Twin telepathy, actual telepathy, but suddenly, dicking around on his computer, Claus suddenly knew that wherever his brother was, he also needed to be. Right. Now.

He slammed his computer closed and dashed out of his room without so much as a word to Metal Sonic. He started with jogging, but it evolved into a sprint. His heart was pounding in his ears by the time he reached the courtyard, the snowfall completely unnoticed to him.

Something. Someone was here. He opened his mouth to call out his brother's name, but upon seeing an entirely different figure appear in the distance, Lucas' name never came.

"... Mom?!"
