Red was, indeed, waiting for her. Misty sounded like she had all this under control, so he focused more on "what the heck do you buy girls for Valentine's Day." Chocolates and flowers? Those were always a safe bet.

SO HE WAVED MISTY OVER, a couple of flowers in one hand and a dinky box of chocolates in the other. Look, he's still pretty broke ok

Misty believed in that oh-so-corny, yet personally true philosophy: "The thought is what counts." Even a dinky little box of chocolates and a small amount of flowers meant as much as a large bouquet and top-notch Swiss truffles. The fact that he got her anything was sweet enough.

She practically squealed and ran for him. BAM. She tackled him in the biggest hug ever. "Red!! It's great to see you!" She pulled apart from him and stared happily down at the chocolates. "Are these for me? Oh, you shouldn't have...!"

Yeah, that's it, it's the thought that counts.

He stared like a deer in headlights when Misty started running for him AND THEN "Oof--" Hello Misty. "Yeah. I figured I should bring something." Because she was totally wearing the pants today and she had everything totally under control. "So, uh... Happy Valentine's Day." He held his gifts out, flowers looking a little squashed from Sudden Misty Attack.

Oh, squished flowers. JOY. Well, okay, it's not like Misty really minded. That was entirely her fault. Oops. "Thanks so much! Happy Valentine's Day." She gave him a soft giggle and a kiss on the cheek.

"I brought the seafood I promised! I got all kinds! Have you ever tried clams? Those are my favorites," she told him. She placed down the flowers and chocolate for a moment to get the picnic blanket (or, well, towel) out and ready.
