Ganondorf was in the back, unusually silent compared to all the other classes he tended to interrupt.

She hadn't expected to see him and perhaps she wouldn't have if he didn't stand out. Even if he stood in the shadows, even if he stood in the dark, Nabooru would have known. An inherent sense, she supposed. When the class was distracted with their own definitions of the phrase "warm up," which she assumed wouldn't be the same -- or accurate, she approached him, calmly for even being in the belly dancing entourage.

"Did you come to participate?" she asked him, trying to keep her humour to herself.

"No," He answered back, crossing his arms as he leaned in the back. "I'm merely observing."

"Then you expected me to fail."

She stood her ground, rested a hand upon her hip, and gestured as she spoke. Did he expect her to useless on her own? Did he expect her to be broken? Was he regretting everything? Did he hate how she seemed so put together? No amount of prying into his fiery eyes could she get the answer.

"Is that it?"

Knuckles laughed. He should have expected this.

"Of course, Professor Nabooru." he simply replied, getting up from his chair, unbuttoning his uniform shirt and tying the loose front in a knot just below his pecs to expose his stomach.

Well. It WAS belly dancing.

And if Speedo Squad shenanagins had taught him anything, it was how to do a cheeky hip-wiggle. In fact, he could shake his be-tailed Bon-bon with the bonniest of them. As soon as the music started, he launched into a pretty passable imitation of the dance teacher. There was a little more footwork than was probably neccesary and considering he didn't really have the desired hourglass figure, it probably wasn't exactly a SULTRY performance.

Professor Nabooru.

It was honestly... gleeful. She felt extremely gleeful over hearing anyone refer to her like that. She almost corrected him, but in the classroom, they weren't simply friends. She was his instructor, he her student, and that meant there had to be the line of respect. Otherwise, how would she ever obtain any from the rest of the faculty?

A hand upon her hip, she watched him, amused to the very fullest and when he was done, she begrudgingly offered him an applause before looking to the other students and coercing them to do the same. Well, attempted to. Whether they did or not didn't mean their grades were affected.

"Well, well. Careful with that. You'll try to take my position and I'll have to beat you up." But she was grinning, which meant she wasn't serious. Maybe.

Knuckles just waved a hand and sat down. "No. I don't want your position, Professor. I'm more than happy just to learn from you."

It honestly felt odd calling her Professor. He'd always just used Nabooru. He couldn't even recall shortening it to Nabs as he'd heard some people do. But, in this class it was what she was.

He DID have to wonder why she wasn't wearing any of her regular gems though. It was weird seeing her without them - surely she didn't remove them for the class? There was no dress code for teachers, so far as he knew. He'd have to ask her later.

Nabooru laughed, surprisingly genuine and without any of the malice that she could have had. In fact, for having been disowned, she wasn't nearly as upset as she had been. In fact, she'd been fairly understanding. Well, if understanding meant breaking things.

"Is that so." Except it wasn't a question. "Don't think flattering me is going to get you a good grade. Keep moving like that, though? You might just have a chance."

Did Duster hear music? Wasn't he supposed to be the guy who was going to teach music? Oh god how was he supposed to teach music.

This required investigating. Duster poked his nose, facial hair and 70s era attire into the classroom he heard music coming from. Maybe they'd hired somebody else to teach it and he wouldn't have to and he could just sleep in and play gigs at night.

He looked too old to be in her class. Nabooru had assumed Ganondorf would stop by. She knew Wave would come because she'd said as much. She had an inkling that there was a possibility Blacky would come. Who was this, though?

She looked him over closely and took her eyes from her students before stopping by him, "Can I help you? Are you lost?"

"Oh, well I just heard music playing and I'm going to be teaching music so I just wondered if maybe they had another music teacher or something."

And yes, he was sort of lost.

Was it just her, or did it seem like he was beginning to back down. Did she scare him? Was that what happened? No way. She eyed him thoughtfully and then she smiled.

"Well. This is dance class. I'm the instructor, Nabooru." She tapped the base of her chin tentatively, "I've never seen the music class, so I don't know where it is, but if you're not hosting it today, you're welcome to sit in for mine and afterward I'll help you."

That was really interesting! Definitely different from the kind of dances he knew. It was a little weird, but he'd like to learn how to do it.

He clapped his hands from the pure joy he saw.

Oh, and Thaddeus was just adorable. Nabooru had a difficult time not expressing the glee drawn across her face. She stopped by his desk and leaned over with a kind smile.

"Are you looking forward to doing it yourself?" She supported herself on an elbow and cradled her chin in the palm of her hand.

"Yes, please!" He said excitingly, oh boy he's gonna do it, too! How exciting!

And she melted on the inside.

She straightened her posture and lifted her hands above her head. "Before you can get started, you need to warm up. Otherwise, you'll pull something and I don't think you'd enjoy that."

Then Nabooru raised an eyebrow at him, "Have you ever danced before?"

Selene, too, applauded, her face lighting up with enjoyment. That was quite a performance. She'd assumed that Nabooru had grand talent in the very thing she took up as a teacher, but she hadn't thought it would be like this. It was even more impressive than she once thought it would be.

She was truthfully excited about the idea of trying this out herself.

Belly dancing was so different from swinging a sword around, or from pelting someone or something down with arrows. Or from seducing men from far off countries. Or from leading an army of women into battle. She could have gone on and on and on in her head.

She stopped by Selene's desk and fingered her chin thoughtfully, leaving the other hand upon her hip. "What forms of dancing do they have where you're from, Selene?"

Selene had to admit that when it came to dancing, even for a beautiful fairy land, Popples was a bit... lacking. Scarce.

"Oh, unfortunately, I am not sure if they have anything very special," She told her. "Popples does not have a large population, and so we do not have many interesting, out of the ordinary things such as this. Some fairies may twirl in a small dance to summon their magic power, however, so oho, I would suppose that would count~ My mother herself was able to do so, but it is nothing much more than simply twirling and chanting."

"That's still dancing," Nabooru corrected her with a scholarly tone. "Dancing doesn't have to be just art an art form. Lots of cultures use dancing to honour their deities or other things like that."

She motioned with her hands as she spoke, "It's not at all unexpected that incantations would be uttered as one was light upon her feet." Or his, as the case might have been. Nabooru really couldn't say because she didn't know much about Popples.

Still, Selene had mentioned fairies and the only thing Nabooru could think of were the great fairies of Hyrule. She'd never even seen them, but somehow she got the impression that they probably danced when no one was looking. Maybe.
