Having a spaceship again was probably the most wonderful thing ever, especially for someone who quite possibly valued his vehicles over his own life. Well...almost. If he valued his vehicles over his own life, this would have been the first Flyer, and Falcon would have been dead. But suffice it to say that the Captain had been enthralled with his shiny new craft, even going so far as to pressure wash the outside for the fifth time and dust the interior before it got a weekend of use.

He was excited, yes, but probably more excited for Ollie to receive his gift. Though not necessarily in the best condition, the impounded Hocotatian craft had been an amazing find--and nothing he couldn't fix. The look on his friend's face would be more than worth it.

"Because it's too big for me to keep in my apartment." He smirked rather cryptically.

"Too big?" Olimar grinned, but still remained perplexed by the possibilities. What could have Falcon bought that was so huge that his apartment couldn't fit? If the tiny space captain had any shed of hope a craft was found, then it may have occurred to him. Of course, for all he knew, the S.S. Dolphin was in pieces after being ripped for scrap metal and otherwise torn apart by space pirates looking for parts. The president never bothered to tell him the fate of his ship. Chances were, after being repossessed no one knew what happened to it.

He got up to stretch, then began talking to the other Captain again. "I really appreciate what you're doing for me. You didn't have to," Olimar said modestly. "And thanks for joining us on Thursday. I was really happy to see you, and I think we all had a nice time." Despite his previous controversies, guilt and personal problems, he loved having Falcon join him and his family once and a while.

"Too big." He echoed, quite obviously pleased with himself and his find. There'd be no way Ollie would ever guess what it could be, which, of course, made it all the better. The smug grin stayed on his face as he piloted the Flyer towards the island. They were getting close, but it would still be a few minutes. Perfect amount of time to increase suspense.

"Oh, don't mention it." Though spending time with Ollie's wife was always awkward, he did enjoy the other captain's family (even if he always had to sit on the floor when he went over their house). His kids, especially. "I had a good time."

He gave a warm smile. It meant even more that Falcon liked being around his family. The awkward tension between him and his wife was understandable. Despite trying to fix their problems and opening up to her, even Olimar found it strange and uncomfortable. A lot of it had to do with guilt though. Knowing how much Falcon loved his kids and how much they loved him, it felt impossible to endanger Falcon by confessing everything to his wife. As far as she knows, he never ever had an affair. (Not that it was ever really questioned. Not that THAT made him feel any better.)

Every time Falcon was over for dinner, he would have to apologize for being unable to give him a spot. And even if it meant having to cook MORE for the huge HUGE captain, his wife still loved having company over and never thought much about her husband's best friend. He had a girlfriend, didn't he? About time. Ollie, I think you need more friends.

"I'm glad."

The suspense of the otherwise quiet ride had fueled Olimar's anticipation.

It wasn't long before Falcon began to ease the Flyer into a descent, the island approaching swiftly and the anticipation only rising. He half expected to hear the voice of his familiar AI alerting them to this fact, but nothing. Despite the fact that his craft was so wonderfully shiny and new, the Captain hadn't yet picked more than a standard computer that provided the bare essentials. He knew he should probably get a more permanent AI, and soon, but he was half hoping that Raptor Perry's disk would turn up. Unlikely, at this point. And he'd never admit it.

Once the security measures were taken care of, the craft descended into the hangar of the island, the engines dying as Falcon ran landing procedures. With a hiss, the hatch opened, inviting Olimar to step outside. "Here we are. Your present's over by my work table, under that tarp. It was a little big to wrap, sorry."
