Mike was sitting on his bed, reading an old Spider-Man comic book.  He had no idea how to resolve ANY of his relationship woes, and the best he could do now was

"Oh yeah," Mike said, not really paying attention to Otacon as he organized his bookshelf. "That's actually HOW I met him. About a year ago, I used that book to go back in time and recover Tetrads to restore King Hirocon of Planet Argonia to his true form! I got to see all sorts of things in the past. Let's see... I'm not really sure how it works or why it does, all I know is it activates when I say 'Paa Paa Paa Oom Papa Mow Mow'."

"Te-" He never had time to finish. Saying the words out loud while the book was open was not a very smart thing to do, holding the book was even worse, as the tome began to glow white, the light enveloping the entire room.

Before he knew what happened, Otacon suddenly felt like a thousand hands where pushing him in, like a black hole sucking everything into another dimension.

And this pretty much happened.

Having not realized that Otacon was actually flipping through the book at the time, Mike was not prepared for this. But hey, at least it was a familiar sensation.

When they finally landed, it was day time and they seemed to be in some secluded part of a village made of stone and wood. At least that's what he thought when he was able to get himself up. "Well, that was unexpected," he said.

Unexpected was not the words running in Otacon's mind right now. More like traumatizing and trying very hard not to scream out at the world right now. All he had wanted was to go to Mike's room, give him some books to change his mind about what had happened last week and think about what they should do next, not get caught up in an adventure, sucked into a hole and fall for HOURS only to land in a small village made of stone and wood.

...stone and wood?

"W-where are we?"

"Hey, I think I remember this place," he finally said, looking around and walking ahead. "I think this is Camelot! I was here last year! Well, when I was time traveling last year," he said. "We shouldn't have any problem--"

As he said that, from the distance, the glow of flames roared in front of them. A loud, inhuman roar pierced the sky.

"...What was that?"
